After another attempt at playing Lavos I can now understand that he is a very accurate representation of alchemy: mashing a bunch of shit together and sometimes it makes a big boom but mostly it just gives you hand cramps and you can't even tell if you're doing anything because half the time kills don't count for the stats screen for some reason (noticed after completing a kill 250 enemies challenge with only 80 showing in the stats).
