Replaying OoT and I see some potential for the "true history revision" thing they mentioned years ago here. Kakariko's building in construction is an abstraction, it's not just one, the carpenters are apparently reforming the whole place and people are JUST starting to live there. They do mention Kakariko was supposedly a sheikah village but I think they will gonna retcon/"correct" it in the remake to explain it was just a small sheikah settlement and Impa just turned it into a city for others, that explains the change in the remake NPC who talks more as if sheikah are still around and would fit the hidden village from TP.>sheikah live in a secluded village since forever, named Kakariko>only in OoT a new Kakariko is being built in another sheikah owned territory, open for everyone>ALTTP shows the full realization of the village, full of non-sheikah>TP also shows the original Kakariko with the last loser still stuck there>BotW has a new sheikah Kakariko like it has a new of pretty much everything

They didn't drop all of the native aesthetics. Still a lot of leather, buckskin and elaborate woodwork, but their more unique non-explicitly-bird-person traits feel swallowed up. We were going to figure it out and have fun doing it.But the concept of exploring 3D space is no longer appealing in and of itself, especially now that open world is a thing. In fact, it's simply because 3D space has become such a cheap, omnipresent whitenoise to pad out gaming that players demand to be given objective lists and don't do anything unless a game explicitly directs them to; they've been trained that that's a waste of time. It's ironic that games seem to include massive, sprawling environments for the sake of immersion and realism, while entirely precluding that the player spend any amount of time actually exploring them on their own. They're just there for the vibes.
