What is the consensus on the Anachronia agility course? From what I've seen, newfags to RS3 love it, but I absolutely hate it.

I think people don't realize how much plugins are going to over-complicate and make RS3 even less fun. When you treat these games as efficiency speed-run simulators the magic is instantly dissolved. I'd rather these "plug-ins" simply be baked into the game itself. No third-party bullshit. I think people simply don't understand that freedom isn't always a good thing. You play games for fun. Or at the very least has there been any changes that would appeal to someone with a relatively fresh account that would at least make up for the fact they're not doing reignited anymore?

The thing this game needs the most is literally anything to make chipping through the pre-endgame content less of a tour through a graveyard of things you won't interact with again.

That leaves Jagex with a needlessly over complicated game where they are stuck removing easy xp and mtx. So Jagex will have a contingency plan. If not then they will be brewing one now, because there is one thing Jagex has constantly excelled at doing over the years. Fucking their players.

Jagex can not be thrilled by the idea of having the bulk of their players maxed out. Many autistics will happily grind their way through bonds to play, and fuck all new players will stick at the game now that play to win and easy xp is being removed. Because its a hopeless catch up game with entirely irrelevant low level content and poor mid level content. With way too much bloat for noobs to get their fucking dumb heads around.
So logically what is Jagex going to do? Here's my half baked schizo theory.

They are still going to release Runescape 4. That is just "Reignited" under a different name and a slightly different window dressing. That gives them the opportunity to pull in new players and low level old players. They will say something like:

"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape."

Lol, where did we hear that before? Oh yeah, thats right, back in 2001. Lol. Then if Runescape 4 works and they get enough subscribers then after a few years they will start to weasel in some play to win bullshit little by little. Just like they did to rs3

on principle I would say no. The only reason I don't roll the dice and RMT on my main is that I'm too invested. For a new osrs account I started with 1 bil for 60$, which was like 300$ in bonds. So no, it's not worth it at all. Paying for members should be all you need.
In general, your buyables aren't going to make you money and you can get them into the 80s with minimal grinding just questing lamps / xp drops.
The play is to level your gathering skills and then farm money with RC/Thieving whatever.

I really don't get this line of thinking at all. They are going to do exactly what they've always done, the only thing they know how to do.
Horizontal progression means all new shit has its own tokens and shop rewards to grind out. Doesn't matter if you're 99 XYZ, if you want the new OP item (minigame unlocks at lvl 20 btw) for training you must grind the minigame/boss/whatever the fuck it is this time.

I would have an easier time as a new player if there was a giant "todo" guide checklist that organises all the shit to do by when you can do it.

Jagex kinda does this except their systems always immediately drop off after cook's assistant and killing a goblin. The quests are in a vauge difficulty order, but you still have to basically pick one and see what it is until you find one that seems important.

Player "guides" open with "Skip to endgame" and carry on from there, and may say "Also start the player owned farm at some point, and the fort" with no elaboration on how to progress those like material counts and level requirements. They are written by people who cannot fathom not being a maxxed main.

Reignited getting cancelled pisses me off because it would have made people actually play a new account and maybe get an idea of how bad basically every guide is.

There's too much bloat, too many currencies. There's too much "The best way to do X is to do Y, but doing Y means doing quest B which has quest A as a prerequisite and quest A requires level X in that skill, and the best way to level that skill is by playing this minigame and obtaining item C, which in turn requires you to do...and so on down an endless rabbit hole.
Ten years ago that sort of interconnected intricacy was far more limited, it was more straight forward and sort of fun and interesting for someone who had been playing for a while and who had more than one brain cell. Sort of like a grand management puzzle, especially when combined with cost efficiency considerations. But they just kept shoehorning more stuff in, much of which was just a pain to do rather than fun, and now its just a confusing mess for new players.

The wolves pked the sheep. That is what kept the cool kids and their little brothers coming into the game. They would talk about it at school. Everyone wanted in on the action. Even the sheep.
The wolves scammed, lured and cheated the sheep. RS was a wild west full of danger. No where was 100% safe. That made it real and alive.
RS was a game of risk and reward.
The costs of making a mistake or just a simple defeat in PvM were often ruinous. Death was lurking everywhere with often catastrophic results at worse or being a major pain in the ass at least. But people kept coming back. Even after losing bank. Because of the thrill, the dopamine hit. It was exciting and people loved it.
RS was also a trading game. You could make money by trading, by being smart, but also by grinding skills that put you ahead of the pack in money making. That kept the nerds happy. You didn't have to be a wolf to make your way in this world.
The grind was real. Even a skiller could command respect by being high level. Encountering a player with multiple 99s that seemed a life time away from accomplishing. Players respected that becasue they knew the time and effort it took. That kept the sheep and girls happy. Your didn't need cosmetics, your stats spoke for you.

But step by step they removed all of that. Devalued everything. Made it all safe. Made it all meaningless. They took away the danger and the sense of accomplishment. They removed the heart pumping action, They misunderstood their own players, why they played and why they kept coming back. Instead they listened to the faggots. They even employed literal in your-face-faggots. They turned RS into a game for faggots, made by faggots, stuck their cocks up every hole in sight and then they wondered why so many players left. Their response? More faggotry. Goddamn faggots.

I can consistently 1-cycle Har Aken and down to three Pizza Times max. The wave I struggle the most on is wave 8 in generaland I have trouble on 12 and 13 while I explore different drag and stack methods. PB is at 24 minutes and that must come down.

But I'm definitely getting a sword piece on the next run.

Use your T90 tank armor for Ambassador, I did it successfully on my second try despite never doing an ED and having no combat gear at all except the freebie Necro armor/weapons. Bloat is a godsend for the spinners and then the only other parts to pay attention to are positioning the pink smoke and having defensives ready for the magic Onslaughts at the end. Prayer switching for the magic auto attack he occasionally sends out is good too.

Do you have the T95 Rasial weapons? Those are the first big upgrade to get. Get an Occultist (or Zorgoth Soul for less DPS but an easier to utilize benefit) ring too.
