>>585435037Cool. Is this modded tho? Nothing wrong with that but I have to know what mods you used here.
>>585434169Damn, we could've had reach all this time? That would've been so nice. Granted, it probably would've had a gay requirement to actually get reach, but still it would've been more useful than dog armor. I imagine they would make you hold it in your offhand to increase your reach? It would work on bugrock too they would just have to add it to the list of things bugrock players can hold in their offhand, or it would be totally fine now I'm not sure if they got to have a real offhand yet or not. Visually wouldn't like it but I could just get a resource pack to make it invisible like with totems.
>>585440713>I imagine they would make you hold it in your offhand to increase your reach? That was their intention with it yeah. It might've had a durability but honestly that would still be so amazing. Building with even +1 reach is a gamechanger. It helps with mining caves/trees and even combat. It would've been such a big thing. Instead we got dumb dog armor nobody uses
>>585400484Why don't they just add more fantasy creatures and not just the bazillionth zombie or skeleton variant?

I haven't played MC in a while.I heard that they added an official Vulkan renderer so I figured I'd try it on a new world in the 1.26.3 version.I was blessed with a seed that has multiple biomes close together, including this one that is new to me.Also there's Copper now?Is it as useless as the mods' implementation of that ore?

What's the best build designing tool/program to plan builds?
>>585454497How big of a build are we talking? Axiom is pretty good. If you're doing something small you can use Litematica.
>>585454728I mean that instead of building something in creative block by block you open up an external program and place blocks in lines, squares, boxes, have the ability to replace all blocks of a type with another block, etc.
>>585431893Fun shape, but I'm not loving the colors
>>585455140Try Axiom. It's not external but does what you are describing.

I wish there was more weather and it was more intelligently designed. It'd be fun if you could have a windy summer day and you'd get some wind noise and leaves blowing off trees or maybe a blizzard / snow storm where you can't see anything. Fog that occludes view if you're near ocean level but is clear above would be cool aswell but is probably beyond Mojang

>>585470807Nigga what?I think having potential end (and sift) tools and armor being an alternative to netherite would be cool. You can upgrade diamond to any one of them. End tools could be quicker but flimsier and the armor weaker but more mobility.
>>585468287When you get hit you teleport randomly
Do you use a resource pack or certain different textures than those from Vanilla? On one hand I always think in the back of my mind whatever I build has to look good in Vanilla. On the other hand it's my single player world so who cares.
>>585478480I used to use eldpack which was really nice looking but there's so many textures in game now its not really reasonable to create a pack imo
>>585479025It's just some small things that irk me. Like every sandstone block having a smooth top side
>>585478480I used Dokucraft during beta. Ever since the texture overhaul I've stuck with vanilla textures. As much as people are nostalgic for them, Notch really had no fucking idea how colors work. I think the vanilla textures are very endearing now.
>>585479715I used Doku back then as well. I liked the customization it had. I used the Painterly pack a lot as well for that same reason.Honorable mentions for JohnSmith and Jolicraft (and later Summerfields)
>>585440054yeah its modded. there was a lot of mods in that pic but most of the blocks come from forbidden and arcanus>>585461719valhesia core or decorative blocks, cant remember which
>>585325887Which old version would you play for building? beta 1.7.3 is nice but I miss stone bricks so much and can't grow mushrooms either. No mending, and no elytra is fine for me but for big structures enchants are nice same as scaffolding got used to them.

>>585487471he's called the sniffanot joking
>>585487471Yeah, they don't spawn naturally. You have to find their eggs in underwater ruins with an "archeology" feature they added a while back. There's a decent chance the sniffer could be expanded on in the new dimension next year.
>>585487803Thats funny as fuck>>585487883I'm happy that they keep adding stuff to minecraft. Could have abandoned it long ago. I'll return one day when I'm not burnt out anymore from playing 2k hours.
>>585473382That seems a bit annoying. I was thinking instead of the knockback resistance that you get from netherite gear you could have enderite give the player speed or jump height. Also maybe the option the combine the chestplate with the elytra.
>>585488080>Thats funny as fuckThe baby sniffers are called snifflets, because Mojang didn't like how "baby sniffer" sounded
>>585488080I'm someone who played a lot in beta and only recently returned. I think the game's in a great spot, the only issue is that a lot of content is nothing more than a new block palette. So if you're hoping for expansive content you'll probably have to wait an entire year.I'm having a lot of fun and I'm playing offline, so I think that says a decent bit about the state of the game.
>>585353234Why isn't there some flying mob in the end besides the dragon? Would be perfect. Maybe some kind of small thing you can kill and use for boots, allowing you to fly like in creative but slower
>>585488741The shulker bullet is a flying mob.
>>585488741It is a bit strange that there aren't any phantoms or similar mobs in the end considering they provide the only material that repairs the End's primary reward.
>still no king
this game can never have another king
I find it very frustrating that Mojang continues to release trees that are tedious to harvest without adding a tree felling feature.
>>585499134Gonna have to be a rare enchantment or tool that can only be acquired to convoluted ways.
>>585331738
>>585506684I wouldn't even mind it honestly. I just think having to nerdpole for wood is ridiculous.
What is it about taiga biomes that make them so palatable for long-term builds? Every other time I set up in a different biome I get bored and move on quickly. There's something about taiga biomes that make me want to build and expand.
>>585499134I play with zero frustration because that feature already exists on bedrock as an add-on.

>literally only good for being really fucking annoying and providing skyblock players with saplings
Any advice for how to bring a little life to the second level? I'm new to larger structures. This is meant to be a medium-sized castle-house sitting over a taiga village. I'm planning on adding some walls and rebuilding the tower that's shown behind it.I flopped on the roof so I'm getting a little frustrated.
>>585520145Mouldings, use shelves, trap doors and banners. Something flat that can go against the wall to decorate it. Also under the windows you can add slabs or stairs to place pots
I killed the least useful Enchanter and replaced him with a Butcher so I could get rid of my 10+ double chests of raw chicken, and this bitch has the audacity to be asking for more chickens per trade rather than less like every other trader. Will he eventually calm down and take a proper number of chickens?
>>585518971Uh, duh. That's my point. It can already be done.
>>585521806The price goes up when you sell/buy too much of the same thing too quickly. It will come back down over time.
Surprised no one tried to do this beforehttps://github.com/ludovic111/horizonDoesn't run half bad to be honest
>>585527041Stinks like shit.
>>585519226REWORK ENCHANTMENTS ALREADYand then implement the enchanted book village rework from a couple years ago>each village type only sells a small subset of enchantments>have to explore the world in order to purchase the different enchantmentsand then that gives the wandering trader a valuable niche>the wandering trader will sell enchanted books from the biome other than the one that hes currently inthen it becomes exciting and bountiful to encounter them because you might get something good and rare
>>585527041But... why? Does it run better? Scale better? Have better modding support?
>>585531092Reminds me of the "Mastery" system I posted in the thread a few days ago.Basically villagers can spawn as Masters and give you enchanted books that level up enchanting, farming, and crafting tools. You can also train villagers to do the same thing, but it's much slower than finding a villager that spawned as a master. Masters could also be given "hermit huts" out in the middle of nowhere, encouraging even more exploration. To get the books you need to complete quests that are mostly just fetch quests. That encourages resource gathering and farm construction.
here's another autistic village change that I wouldn't mind seeing>the player CANNOT mine or place blocks within a village until they have achieved a certain level of trust within the village>trust is gained by trading with villagers and clearing raids>>585531562>That encourages resource gathering and farm construction.>farm constructiondon't let the matcha flavor guy see this
>>585531953As someone who typically builds near or inside villages I like your idea. I think village cleanup could be made into a quest to help gain village trust. Like clearing out trees or tall grass. It would be really cool if there was a way for the game to identify large holes as hazards for villagers, so filling in holes and caves could be considered cleanup as well.
>>585531953>>585533065do not bring tai bwo wannai cleanup to minecraft please for the love of godi dont like the idea of outright preventing the player from interacting with the world in the main two ways they can interact with the world in an area until they've done something arbitrary. that seems extremely unminecrafty.at best if you wanted to entertain that idea, have iron golems fuck your shit up if you steal from chests or beds or break houses in a village without having enough trust. so that the option is still there, but you will get your shit kicked in if you aren't prepared.
>>585533682>do not bring tai bwo wannai cleanup to minecraft please for the love of godDidn't realize that there were other OSRS players here. Makes sense though. Both games are good for people who enjoy solitude.I like your idea about the golems more than just preventing players from interacting with the chunks. Excellent suggestion.
>>585533065I think some level of build-quests would be the most groundbreaking and game changing thing that could happen to this game. I don't know if Mojang even has someone on staff capable of designing it. Every update is just "wow new blocks" for a reason.
>>585533682>at best if you wanted to entertain that idea, have iron golems fuck your shit up if you steal from chests or beds or break houses in a village without having enough trustooooh I like that
>>585533682Outright preventing actions is bad. It'd be better to introduce a morality system to penalize actions.

>>585531248Cuz is vibecoded >>585528928And yes in theory you can make Rust have much better memory consumption and better perfomance than Java but if you don't know what you're doing is going to be riddled with bugs and have no parity with Java's features. Also there's stuff you can't just vibe optimize like redstone without knowing what you're doing, is all synchronous state with subtle but important behaviors, even the low hanging fruit like quasiconectivity>>585531092They should just rip off modders. Make something Botania's runic altar but without the whole floaty entities crap, something that requires you to gather materials from different parts of the world and dimensions and combine them into the final result. No random shit attached, you grind and slowly get what you want (though you can still keep that last enchanted book trade from master level librarians if you wish so, just remove the useless/weak enchantments from the pool). You could also give some materials different properties so people don't get the functional urge of rushing enchantments. I.e. if i ever get into it, i plan to mod base gold tools into picking ice, snow, grass and all those grass blocks (the most common use cases early game) then cut their durability reduction of the whole set to 1/3rd while being used in the Nether, but remove silk touch from them and get them mandatory curse of vanishing if enchanted through a table.
Enchanting in general needs an aggressive overhaul or just straight rework.Steal from mods if they must. We got a near useless armor upgrade system and the 2011 system is showing is age.

>>585579123That's the insecurity and fear of java being depreciated in favor of bedrock talking.
The Bedrock situation is so strange to me because they can't convince people to swap from Java, treat Bedrock like it isn't the priority, yet clearly want everyone to play Bedrock over Java because it's better for the bottom line.
I'm skipping ahead to killing the Ender Dragon in this world because I really don't feel like working on storage.
>>585627064bedrock edition is probably one of microsofts biggest blunders in regards to understanding a consumer base. they hoped that a new edition catering to "ease of access" through consoles and mobile would anchor bedrock to a younger audience and artificially create that "world" that java edition has now, which is a bunch of old people providing content that gets multiple millions of views collectively and is broadcast and consumed by everyone of all ageswhenever i see bedrock being mentioned outside 4chan it's almost always something negative about how the game functions differently to java or about the minecraft store. java literally cannot be stopped unless they pull the plug entirely and doing that would be a franchise suicide
>>585579123bedrock is fineadd-on users get the rope
>>585630447That's the root of a lot of issue with this game if you think about it. Microsoft bought a goldmine, literally the most successful videogame in the history of videogames. Yet they were too scared to make the decisions they needed to make.If Microsoft bit the bullet and made the major changes this game needed all the way back in 2014, they would have a much easier time adding content and building on its features. Now we're a decade and a half into this game's existence and some of its biggest flaws are considered foundational to its existence.

>still no tomato
>>585647802Farming could probably do with an overhaul. Aside from adding tomatos, how would you want Mojang to rework farming?
>>585648989Maybe the Farmer's Delight route, add in recipes for things that make totally sense to exist like fried eggs, some methods to keep farmlands from being trampled.
>>585648989The Scythe can be used to harvest crops without breaking the block and replanting them, but you need to defeat the Ender Reaper for it.
>>585648989Rice, tomatoes, lettuce, and they might as well add cheese as it's another basic food item. Then add recipes for dishes that are better than the individual ingredients. That's really all I want: an excuse to collect more than a single thing (i.e. golden carrots)
>>585648989One thing I really like in Nekoma's vid is how you can use the Hollow Logs as a frame for the farmland, and anything grown on it would remained intact even when you jumped on it.
Estimated release on the next update? Planning on getting back into Minecraft but don't want to start a new world if the next version comes out in like 2 months.
>>585632589that's pretty standardhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vztJNmUdyBY
>>585652000
>>585651431Around 2 months from now, it really shouldn't release before December or release after the New Year but this is Mojang so estimations and speculations don't mean much. If you're itching to play just start a new world, or your old one, and avoid new cold generated terrain
>>585649820This would be nice. It's the most annoying part about farms and is why you just enslave villagers is to avoid replanting all the time after water collection. It could be used to clear grass and leaves in an aoe too. They could also add a combat enchant called beheading which would give you mob head drops and that could be the way they introduce it to every mob
>>585649820I'd rather see dispensers getting the ability to plant seeds and saplings

Is there a block that's basically end rods but they dont glow and aren't lightning rods
>>585655886No worries, as for trial chambers they got buffed not long after release. They became more common as well as cartographer villagers sometimes offering trial chamber maps as their trades leading you directly to them. With recent changes - the wilderness bound update - they have now added chances for you to find trial chamber maps that lead to nearby trial chambers in chests within the new abandoned camp structures which can be found in many different forest/plains-type biomes and those are about as common to find as villages but more so because of the amount of different biomes they can be generate in
>>585657386Chains technically, but they obviously look different.
>>585657463i'll never "grow" (build) a big cactus...
>>585657416Just took a look at the wiki, interesting they added maps for additional locations, though with mineshafts being so common I wonder why they added a map for them.
>>585657550You're not thinking big enough. Make it so big that full blocks can work as spikes
>>585656064I still hope they'd add a way to get other mob heads. Not only for decoration but collection and noteblock sound effects for redstone. It's such an easy thing to add, just enable it for all mobs.
>>585659151I mean, with trident added you could probably farm creepers during a thunderstorm and do it the classic way right? I get its inconvenient, but there is a way obviously, even if the options are dismal.
>>585659430Any method would be fine. My complaint is charged creepers only work on zombie, skeleton, creeper, piglin and wither skeleton heads. All the other mob heads are completely unobtainable in vanilla
>>585658118It's probably to do with another addition, a new music disc that can only be found in mineshaft minecarts that generate inside the new sulfur cave biomes. A tip for future attempts at the disc and for others too, chest loot generate when opened and since minecart chests are mobile you can push multiple minecart chests from outside a sulfur cave biome into the sulfur caves and open them to generate the new disc
>>585658464thats for flyby youtube videos, there's no scale where you could actually walk remotely near it and not have it look dumb unless you build it from bedrock to height limit and build a hundred mountains onto the sides of it, but even then that's the exact same thing and it'd just be nothing when you're near it and you'd only get it from far away
>>585659654I thought they changed the loot from being random to being consistent across the same seed?If I am on seed 3 and you are on seed 3 and we both open the chest, it has the same contents, for example.Or is it different with minecarts specifically?
>>585660349I think end rods can look okay enough as spikes, you're overthinking it. You want your big cactus to be lit up anyway, surely, so the light won't be a problem. If you really feel the need to, vanilla tweaks has a tweak that takes away the purple base on end rods so they'd be even more perfect.
>>585660982You are correct about the loot being the same in every seed however the game does an extra loot-check for where a minecart chest is opened and if it's within the sulfur caves biome it will add whatever % chance to get the disc, then another check for what empty slot to place the disc in

I kinda do want to take the time to discuss Minecraft’s inner workings. I spent the past week figuring out how I’ll do block state in my Minecraft clone. I’ve been researching and comparing Java, Bedrock, and Luanti vigorously to figure out the most ideal scenario. So far I’ve ended up at storing block state inline inside the chunk (16 bit block type Id + 16 but state data) along with using Bedrock’s ecs-style component architecture for block definition. I deliberately wanted to stray from Minecraft’s baked state architecture for an easier and cleaner one, even if it means a bit more ram usage. That is with the assumption of a 12 chunk simulation radius, Minecraft’s standard. Increasing that any further would explode memory usage without some sort of compression. I do kinda want to stress test making every single block that requires state an entity. I could also split the difference, use a generic single schema (orientation, on/off) for block state that every single block uses, and anything further is an entity.
>>585595797I play the game as a survival game and block vomit looks terrible on builds you actually interact with. Feels like playing an adventure map in 2012.

>>585663438Looks sick I love it, especially love what you're doing with the ruins they looked good enough to be done before I read the post, hope you post again when it is done.Top spikes of sexy evil magic towers have always been my bane too, really hard to get them to look right. >>585664005It's imposing from a distance, but it doesn't sit right with me somehow. I had them much thinner before but that looked terrible. I'll have to figure it out. Also the ruins, the idea is just some ancient ruins that got scorched by the appearance of the tower which is why I'm doing a gradient from deepslate, tuff and stone bricks, probably gonna add moss and shit like that to the top. I like floating islands a lot so I wanted to make it a magically levitating ruined schorched hell ruins>>585664641Just make a ring using a guide or something, then make it 2 blocks thick by going around, then add another layer. Can anyone give me a rundown on the Nautilus, I've glanced over the wiki but I haven't played since they were added. Mainly curious about:>Swim speed in comparison to regular/dolphin>Maneuverability, when I sit on one will it hold it's position in water, or does it sink/rise like a player.>Zombie Nautilus, is it targeted by Golems/Conduits? Any advantages over regular? Thanks.
>>585667091Around double the normal swim speed without depth strider. Slower than dolphins grace though. Roughly the same as boating, zombie one might be faster. Controls like the happy ghast, they keep the Y lvl. Can help with building underwater but the sink/rise of a player isn't that annoying to deal with Zombie version is treated as a passive mob once you tame it so nothing will attack it. Zombie one is 10% faster and keeps undead treats like burning in the sun/damage from healing potions

I think the creeper genuinely terrifies Mojang. Both in terms of its relevance as the game's brand but also in terms of its value in the game. Multiple devs have spoken about how they would remove the creeper if they could, I wonder how far that sentiment reaches. Could they be scared of adding an alternative for collecting gunpowder simply because they're too scared of minimizing the creeper? They're already too timid to add any content but block palettes.
>>585850050>How many shulkers do you even need ?You really can't go wrong with having unlimited shulker boxes to help organize>How do you even transfer them to the overworld ?I assume minecart into the portal. That's how I've seen people move them around the end to farms there

>>585866841Desert sandstorms create sandpiles like snow layers. Instead of snowballs you get a pile of sand. You need to use those to craft sand blocks
>>585866841>how do you go about it in the most nu-mojang way possibleI don't add renewable sand.
>nu mojang would never add something that damages the playernu mojang created the warden which has the strongest hit in the gamenu mojang created the creaking which can't be killed by conventional meansnu mojang created bogged and parched skeletons that poison and give you weaknessnu mojang brought the zombie horse and camel husk into the game making mounted zombies and husks with spearsnu mojang added trident hurling drowned onto zombie nautilus making them much harder to escape and avoidnu mojang is about to add a new zombie that has more health than normal and can throw balls of frozen rock at you that both slow you down and add the freezing ability that powder snow gives you
why does everyone want renewable sand so badly anyway, everybody hates deserts and glass looks like shit
you don't know because you've never been in a pale garden, but the creaking does like half a heart of damage
>>585866841I think sand layers are the most common idea people have and it makes sense given how we have snow layers and they're used to make snow blocks, so with that in mind and current Mojang I'd say adding a sandstone golem to the game that you build with chiseled sandstone (keeps the creeper face) that creates sand layers. Maybe have the sandstone golem create a mini sandstorm around itself as it attacks mobs in a 5x5 or 3x3 AOE and it leaves sand layers on the ground as mobs take damage, even giving the sandstone golem the ability to add slowness or something to mobs it hits. As an added bonus, players aren't immune to the sandstone golem's AOE sandstorms so people can utilize them for minigames or whateverFor red sand/sandstone just do the same with chiseled red sandstone blocks to create a red sandstone golem because lazinessOr scrap all of that and add new hostile mobs that do the exact same thing and only spawn in deserts for regular sand variant or badlands for the red sand variant, call them "dust devils"

I am playing Java version 26.3. I want to know what is the perfect way to play Minecraft? My minecraft playthroughs are summarized as -1. I build a little makeshift cavehouse.2. I set up a quick cane and cow farm.3. I get the diamonds and acquire enchantments.4. I rush the Nether to acquire warts and blaze rods.5. I craft weakness potions and abuse the villager trading system to get the best enchants.6. I kill the dragon, get the elytra, which then incentivizes me to build a mob xp/gunpowder farm.7. I build some random projects (bridges, windmills, fachwerkhauses, buildings inspired from my culture (Gurudwaras, Temples etc) Then after doing a couple of projects does it finally strike me, and I ask myself why am I even doing this? In the end this is just a block world of sandbox. It is a fantasy, it is not giving me enough pain or reason to justify its existence or continuation. It is not making me forget my past or lose myself or helping me in running away from the real world. This thought process pushes me in quitting the entire thing. Then I return after a few months to start all over again. I want to know if someone else is playing it differently. Also I don't like using mods.
Is anyone else obsessed with recreating nether-esque aesthetics in the overworld but never builds in the netherI don't know why I don't want to so bad, despite loving volcanic biomes and wanting a lot of things it has like the colored fog or the sparks on the windsomebody somewhere has to share this autism

>>585870997>Also I don't like using mods.Start using mods. Specifically those that (reasonably) increase the game's difficulty. They type of mods (and/or modpacks) that make you progress through tool and armor tiers slower, that also make farming and raising animals more involved.Want a real reason to build houses and forges and windmills and straight up fortresses? There are mods out there that give you actual real reasons to do all that if you want to prosper and you also want your villagers to prosper. Reasons like changing of the seasons that bring about weather events, the need for actual food variety and simply just the fact that hordes of hostiles periodically come to siege your shit. I'm gonna get some hate for saying all this but deep down you all know I am right.

>>585956957I enjoyed Terraria when I played it but it's not something I ever have any desire to return to. I found myself min-maxing everything, grinding to unlock and finish each boss, then just fucked around for around 30 minutes with endgame gear before closing the game for good. People make some cool builds, but it's not a game that I find suitable for long-term play. I know a couple guys who love the game and have thousands of hours though. I'm not sure what they do in game that's so appealing.
>>585957489They mod it, I have to assume. I come back every few updates and put another 40 hours into it, but I couldn't play it the way that I do Minecraft. Again, they're just very different games
>>585956957>>585957489It's not a game where you intend to keep a single world going "forever" like in minecraft. It has a clear progression path, and a clear ending. But there's just so much stuff you CAN do in every playthrough at different points in the game. I always build as much as I can until I get bored in every playthrough I do, and the fact that the game has an ending means I get to restart in a new world and do it again but different every time. Not the same feeling in minecraft where you keep building in the same world forever and eventually have these massive towns and structures, but there is a certain joy in having little unique builds for every run, and trying new things. I also just genuinely love the building system and tools in the game, and the art style of the game is just so nice to look at and play with the blocks till you make something nice. >I'm not sure what they do in game that's so appealing. The gameplay loop is just endlessly fun. Explore, craft, build, fight, etc. Doing playthroughs of the game with different class restrictions, equipment restrictions, different world seed challenges, different difficulties, etc. Plenty of replayability in just vanilla. Then of course mods as well, add a unique thing for a playthrough, and then even more limitless possibilities for replays with combinations of them and different restrictions. It's a fun game, it scratches many itches at once.
The cozy campsite vibes are gone now that construction has started.

>>585963619>everyone hates acacia woodNah I like the orange tint. If there's any truly useless wood it's jungle
>>585962692>>585963619i like savannas and acacia wood :)i prefer to spawn and build in savannas because they're less boring than regular plains/forests without being as remote and annoying as cold biomes or as gaudy as something like a cherry groveacacia's gray logs are great and a nice contrast to balance out the orange wood
farm wheat to trade with the farmer, but there's a fletcher so put trees next to the farm for sticksbut make chickens with the extra seeds to sell to the butcherall so you can have emeralds to trade to the librarianvillager trading really just takes over a game
I'd like a steppe biome, but only if mojang steps up their game with the desert and savanna biomes. They could even do warm and cold steppes
>>585962692they have armadillosHowever after you transport 2 of them back home and breed them a few times with spider eyes, you'll have a sustainable population to use as a source of scutes for wolf armor crafting/repair.one of these days they will be adding baobabs, ostriches, and termites. it may be in like 10-20 years but it's coming eventually
>>585325887>Jesus loves you.i remember anon....a good man died for me....

Explain librarians to meHe takes like a week to do any work to reset, then after I finally hear him turning pages, all he does is restock his candles instead of getting different books?Breaking the lectern doesn't do anything either, he never loses his job and just stares at me
>>585974618Villagers don't work the way you think they do.Once a villager completes a trade all of their trades from novice to master are locked. They will not lose their jobs when their job block is broken, and their trade options will never change. If a village has not completed any trades at all, then you can break blocks to reset them and try for new trades. Each specific enchanted book variant is the trade option, not the pool of enchanted books as a whole. Once you trade a librarian for their enchanted book, they will only be able to sell that specific enchantment. It's recommended to create a trading hall, at least for just librarians, so you can label them and know which villager sells which book.If you haven't done villager breeding before it's actually very simple. Just destroy all beds in the village and place them into one building. At night they will all go into the building to sleep. Then you can lock them inside and throw bread on the ground and they will share the bread as a mating ritual.
>>585975353So people reroll NOVICE librarians hoping for the best books??
>>585976361You can only reroll novice villagers, anon.
>>585975353a neat thing i learned about blacksmiths and armorers.once you have them reach master level, you can get easy diamond armor and tools, and cheap too if....emerald farmpair that with certain enchanted books from the librarians and you can get OP easy.i overlooked the blacksmiths/armorers for too long, because i had easy access to iron from iron farms
>>585976412literally every single thing about enchanting is retarded
>>585976553I almost exclusively get my diamond items from villagers. I only use diamonds for super enchants, a lot of which I find in The End anyway. Villagers are severely unbalanced. I think the only reason Mojang leaves them the way they are is because they're so hyperfocused on making this the block building game and instead of the indie survival game. They see villagers providing players easy access to the end game as an upside, not a problem. It gets players into their "forever world" faster.>>585976762They haven't really changed it since Notch rough drafted it over a decade ago, so yeah.
>>585976553Ever since raid farms were kill i've been using cured blacksmiths and armorers for getting most of my emeralds. 1 iron for an emerald is a pretty good deal when i get infinite free iron forever.I also get all my diamond tools and armors from them, and only use the real raw diamonds i get on things like trims and templates.

Cherry trees look so nice. Worth the trip to find them.
Raised a Librarian all the way to master then got mending from resetting a new one for like 40 secondsAwful, awful system
>>585973287wolf armor mechanically is actually kinda neatif your wolf has ANY armor remaining then it is basically immune to death until the armor breaks (including stuff like fall damage)you can micromanage your dogs armor by keeping it topped off with scute so it cant die
what about cat armor
Do you try making the area around your starting base as flat and treeless as possible anons? Or do you leave it as is?
what about camel armor
Do you think they'll do zombie polar bears next? With zombies riding them?
>>585982918I try to expand and secure a large enough area that I can play through a night without being concerned with mobs. That always involves clearing trees, but I try to build on top terrain rather than through, if I can.
>>585982918If anything I'd plant extra trees
>>585981183I've only heard of people using allays for that with slime/infesting potions
>>585982918I alternate between being a human bulldozer who goes into the world with the express goal of destroying all life and turning the world into a parking lot and gigahippy who goes out of my way to preserve the natural world generation at great personal inconvenience
>>585981183>>585983987Yeah armadillos are invulnerable when they're curled up but still "take damage" and spawn silverfish from an infesting potion. Can do something similar with allays but armadillos are generally easier to source and breed, and they're easier to use in a farm.
what about sniffer armor
>>585984167I find allays more often than armadillos but I'm not really staying in savanna's much. Leading them back sounds like a hassle compare to allay flying too, they're just balloons when you lead them
>>585984767Yeah the only time I used them I was playing on large biomes so I had to bring them back via Nether more or less. (I mean, probably would bring them back the same way in normal biomes, but it'd take way less time.)
remember when the only thing the nether did was give you a new light source and it was hideous so people were driven to texture packs and almost no one played original textures as a result
>>585982918I smooth it out a bit, not necessarily totally flat but i'll fix like glaring issuesand usually I start off cutting down some of the trees to use as resources but once I'm settled in I start replanting the forest and then have a separate "plantation" of trees from other biomes to use for lumber >>585982591yeah a stack or two of scutes keeps you stocked for a little adventuring trip. i kinda wish there was a scute storage block>>585983252it's one of the mos upvoted things on the feedback forum, but IDK if Mojang will do it or not.
>>585982918treeless kind of but not as flat as possible. i like working with the terrain so don't like flattening out areas unless it's for something specific, even then i try to work with terrain later by terraforming the area around the build to match everything elsei like having obvious clearings of trees in forests with the stumps left behind to make my world feel lived in, sometimes if i'm building in an area i'll leave the bottom logs behind till i'm done and then replant saplings in the same place if trees will grow just to try and get back the natural feel the place had before i got there

>>585986912>so I won't have to use my pro-performance modpack anymorebut whymods will always be better than vanilla for performance by a significant margin, and the mods of today have complete parity with vanilla mechanics and interactions so there's zero downside to using them.

>>585987210>but whyBecause the less mods I have to use, the better I feel. It's a personal thing. It's not that I don't like using mods, and even if the game ran perfectly I'd still use mods for QoL features, but I would appreciate not having to have +50 mods whose sole purpose is to improve the game's performance because its actual developers are a bunch of midwits.

>>585992886gg.Meanwhile, I'm having the worst luck I ever had with enchantments in my 26.3 world. It took me forever to get a pickaxe with Fortune 2, and it took me a few tries to get Looting 2 on a sword.Yes, 2.I got a Looting 2 book secured, but I guess Fortune 3 is just a bitch to get now.Shoutouts to the Grindstone. Finding Ancient Debris sucks as much as I remember it.I almost lost my sword and pickaxe to lava falling on my head.So far I found 2 blocks in 2 chunks.Still got another 22 more beds to go through though.
>>585998807how are you going about it exactly?and why aren't you rocking fire resistance potions? if you've managed to get a smithing template then surely you've got everything you need to make fire res pots.
If you're going for netherite and having lava fall on your head you might just be stupid
>>585998914>how are you going about it exactly?Y15, put a bed inside a small hole on the wall in the middle point of a chunk, trigger the bed a few blocks away so the explosion doesn't do more than half a heart of damage and looking around.Sometimes lava falls through the roof. It is what it is.>and why aren't you rocking fire resistance potions?Because I haven't found a fortress yet.Actually, I haven't looked for one honestly.I spawned inside a cozy roofed ravine-like area.
Also I just found 1 chunk with 2 Ancient Debris instead of 1 like the other 2 chunks I ravaged. That's nice.
Is anyone a loser like me and never visit the nether? I just build and explore in the overworld.
endermen
I'm making a sort of "tools and utilities" shulker box and filling it with things I usually would need and have to craft or go back to my main base to get so instead I just have them on the go, disregarding redstone components as I've already got a redstone shulker box, what else would you put in here? I'm probably going to put sponges in, currently clearing out a few to get enough of them for a full stackI have a shulker box almost full of emerald blocks for the beacons, don't need smokers or blast furnaces with regular furnaces, I usually have a full stack of prismarine for the conduits but I have one active at the moment. Anything like a flint and steel, brush, shears, etc are all in another shulker box along with my tridents, bow, crossbow, alternate netherite tools and spare elytras. I could even move out the rails and put them with all the other variants in my redstone box for more space

>>586021053it lessens inventory clutter for items that stack, so if you have a bunch of random items taking up 10 slots they can all be put into 1 if they total less than 64. you probably put a tool, a bed, armor or something else that doesn't stack inside it
