Deep Stone Crypt is unironically the peak of where raid mechanics should be where it doesn't feel like your time is being wasted and they are easy to explain with the different augments. VoG is a snooze fest because they put that shit together after gutting the original raid for D1 and there isn't much you can do to salvage it. Equilibrium at least felt much better compared to SD and VH mechanically.

For armor the only ones you really need are 2 piece Europa, King's Fall, Salvation's Edge, Tec-sec, Smoke Jumper. Those armor sets are pretty generalized you usually will run Europa + SE most of the time unless you need more ammo gen then you change SE to KF armor.Weapons are kind of in a strange place it mostly depends on your class. For Hunters at least they are either using Still Hunt + Celestial Golden gun setup or Levi's Breath bow setup with Fortune's favor. Best guns to use for Still Hunt + celestial is Blast Furnace or Submission with 2 piece tec-sec to smash shields and your heavy is usually something that does decent damage. Levi's breath setup is a bit better in general content but still really good in raid damage scenarios, you literally just want 1000 Yard Stare with Redirection + Vorpal Weapon and its grasp this week so you can get T5 drops easily rn if not just craft the Pale Heart sniper as it has the same roll then top slot is again Blast Furance and Submission and you run 2 piece Tec-sec for shields. Alternatives is Heritage with Redirection + Aggregate charge and Reckless Oracle with Destab + OFA/Chaos Reshaped. Pretty much just go for the absolute BiS gear and once you got that then you can worry about other sets to make funny builds.

Concord and Highguard did have a planned roadmap of content but because they were incredible failures with the company having no backup forms of revenue generation like other games or shit they crumbled to bits when there was zero RoI. Like the guy porting D1 to D2 recently said he could actually port Wrath to the newer version of the engine quite easily and even the lighting would be easier because its dynamic or something rather than baked in or something. Pretty much Bungie didn't want to strip resources from things that directly had a huge monetary incentive like expansions just to reprise old content for free. We already know Bungie were burning cash like no tomorrow so they were pretty much locked into doing new content for Destiny constantly to sustain themselves. Now that they have laid off 75% of their studio since 2020 its now much cheaper to maintain Destiny since they aren't paying for as many developers and its why they are doing unvaulting since its cheap and doable just time consuming as I said. The upside for Bungie is they get all the cattle excited for "DESTINY COMING BACK WOOO!1!!!11111!!!" and so they drop money on the game with Bungie doing nothing and also not having to invest huge amounts of money into the game.
