Alright. Time to mention this in public for the first time. There have been a few projects to try and restore the old skullgirls content but most of them haven't been complete. I want a complete one. So I've been working on Ahad of The Curve. End goal? Restore everything. Sprites, cutscenes, voice packs, artbook content, red cross emblems, the whole works. A lot of stuff like cutscene restoration has been easy. Getting old sprites back has been a bit of a journey since reverse engineer Skullgirls' yee-yee ass z-engine animation formats. It accepts modified game sprites and high definition frames from the digital art compendium, all though it takes a while to compress the HD frames. If you have extracted the frames from an old version they come up unsorted, the app has a third button that sorts them for you.In general you always want a project with the character you want to swap frames extracted since the app checks the size and silhouette between input and output.That would be it, have fun.

Hoping it would come out like yours with the red cross frames there and modern frames filling in the gaps the old ones don't have. At first I thought I fucked something up and only imported the old frames but most of those are missing too. Like she's invisible when walking despite it being visible in your webm. I'll dick around with it some more later today and see what I screwed up. Also I just want to say again how great your work has been. The sprite replacer is really cool but your modloader is something that can change the game as a whole. You've opened up the door to a whole new world for this game. I plan on having future AOTC releases have both the .cmd file to apply them standalone and a zip to work with the modloader.

The sprite workshop is great but it's missed a few so in my quest to restore Valentine sprites I've been manually going through them. The 2014 version with the OG sprites has a different name format than the modern one, they're all just in one big bucket labeled with increasing numbers. So I've been going through them manually. And it's maddening. A lot of these sprites weren't just edited but completely redrawn. So the million dollar question here is this. Are all the differences in this image due to the slight change in positions from the redraw or the slight change in position because I'm matching it with the wrong fucking frameAnyways I'm probably going to pivot and try to get the file names pulled by each move in the old version and do the same in the new to compare that way. That will have its own host of problems but it will probably help the madness.

HAHA. GOT IT!!AOTC v0.13 is now out. It is fully compatible with Annonie's excellent mod loader and also has a standalone version. I've finally gotten Mike-Z's soviet voice back in with an optional toggle for it. I've restored Eliza's cutscenes and it also runs about 4x faster now. Other than that this update was just getting compatibility with the modloader. Next target? However she is saved from being an evil monster by the opposing heroine faction who imbue some of their own world's magic into her body. She can't go back to Skullworld because if she does the Trinity may be able to override her defenses and turn her evil again, so she stays in the heroines' world where she protects refugees that are coming into it.Eventually the other Skullgirls invade and mock Annie, asking why she bothered joining the loser team.
