    I tried to upgrade to a 1440p monitor and it literally fried my eyes, as in my eyesight is now noticeably worse than it was prior to using the monitor. I tried every trick in the book, from lowering the brightness to lowering the blue light and all that shit and it didn't help at all. I eventually switched back to my 1080p monitor and I've been afraid to try out any other monitors since then.

    Depending on what panel you got that can happen if you got sensitive eyes, something with extra flicker. My eyes dried up noticeably faster on certain monitors when I was trying out several to see which one I'd keep.
    Return it and try a new one, it won't get any better.

    I've had the same monitor since...the late 00's early 10's, and since I have a "if it's not broken or glitchy just keep using it" policy, I haven't. I don't see how 4k is supposed to be that much of an improvement, considering all the shit that gets released is always upscaled garbage.
