Do you prefer RE4 (2005) or RE4 Remake (2023)?
I don't care, I don't play slop.
I found out RE and SH are two different games this year. I haven't played a single one but I might play Requiem because that lady is really pretty.
I don't remember that room configuration, or those insect guys being in a room like this one.
Playing RE4 original at the moment for the first time. Amazing game so far but my only complaint is that Mendez should have gotten a boss fight in his base form instead of immediately transforming into a spine monster thing. Also the random rollercoaster shortcut in the castle should have been a gameplay bit instead of just a cutscene.
OG. I played through the remake and it was fine but a bit too unfocused.

The remake with specific mods has better gameplay just like how the original with mods looks way better. The OG also has better cutscenes, audio, atmoshpere and voice acting. I really hate how the remake looks. The RE engine is just ugly. Reminds me of LotR and the Hobbit where the former is caught on 35mm film which makes it look more realistic whereas the latter is entirely digital which makes everything look fake and like a poor videogame.

Leon moves like he's in RDR2 and you're locked in animations and staggers way too long. The aiming with controller if garbage too, this game has the worst crosshair I've ever come across in a video game.Other than that, it's good I guess. I prefer the original, the pacing is perfect and the gameplay is, at the very least, reliable.

Remake is mildly fun the first time or two though, but the original is an actual time-tested masterpiece. Having to choose between shooting and moving is the entire basis of the game's balance, and works beautifully once you accept it on its own terms.The remake removed that fundamental (purposeful) limitation to try to attract a modern audience. In doing so, it completely destroyed the original's balance, necessitating wide swathes of changes just to shoehorn in >we want the Last of Us audienceAll of that said, the remake is still a solid game, and much better than most modern third person shooters. It just doesn't distinguish itself in nearly the same way the original did.
