Why does neo-/v/ hate dungeon crawlers?
    >>
I don't, but what you posted looks like the most generic and boring boomer shit ever
    >>
    >>750744659
I like Etrian Odyssey games. I bought the Wizardry 3D remake/remaster and hope to play that soon. I heard nothing but great things about the Wizardry games.

Because the dungeon design is only a step above Crate Expectations (The old rule about how you can how shitty a game is by the time it takes to see your first crate)

Basically people hate nonsenical building/room design
    >>
    >>750744659
I always did since the 90s, even kid me was like, why am I taking turns with a fucking hallway?
    >>
    >>750744659
we are in the big 20 26, QOL matters a lot
    >>
    >>750744659
It's a genre for white people and /v/ is brown
    >>
    >>750744659
"neo-/v/" doesn't exist, that's just bots and people replying to their own bait

    >Why does neo-/v/ hate dungeon crawlers?
    But neo-/v/ loves Soulslikes tho?
    >>
    >>750744659
I rarely see them get recommended, and it's never the good shit like Grimrock.
    >>
    >>750744659
It's a high iq genre and this board is brown.
    >>
    >>750744687
Might & Magic VI is incredible.
    >>
To be fair you need to have a high IQ to enjoy dungeon crawlers. Wabadadubdub

    >>750744659
What makes a game a dungeon crawler? Is it grid-based? Turn-based? Blobber? Or does any RPG that mostly takes part in a dungeon count?
    >>
    >>750744659
Blobbers are really lame with their dated random encounters and menu based combat. I wish there were more real time dungeon crawlers that weren't generic King's Field knockoffs.

No one makes new games and the ones being made are shilled on r/DRPG and /v/ hates reddit so there's nothing to talk about but fellating old games here
    >>
I played Might and Magic 6 and it was honestly the worst game I've played in my life.
To put it in perspective, Fallout 1 came out in 1997, and MM6 in 1998. While other games were advancing the genre in interactivity and story, MM6 was like "what if there was 500 ctrl+v enemies in a big empty room and you had to kite them by abusing the turn-based toggle"
    >>

he specifically asked for the ones without bearable gameplay

MM6-8 are unique as af and border on their own subgenre.
