He was right about synths. They're not people, and should be kept in check
    >>
    >>750738323
but why replace random wastelanders with synths?
    >>
    >>750738549
Because Bethesda had to make them cartoonishly evil somehow
    >>
    >>750738549
To ensure that no large civilization like NCR can be formed
    >>
    >>750738549
    It's a great question.
Because essentially he's bringing human replacements.
If he wanted perfect soldiers, he wouldn't give them their own personalities. He wouldn't make them an AGI.
Plus if he can make perfectly synthetic skin, they probably have the tech to fix every human into its perfect form. They basically figured out science that we are still pursuing in real life today.

So yeah, his motives just don't make sense. It is what it is.
    >>
    >>750738765
But how can you replace humans when Synths aren't people and have to be kept in check.
    >>
    >>750738549
you simply don’t understand. you can’t understand. the understanding is not with you and cannot be imparted onto you
    >>

They were all either resource holders, belligerents, or leaders.

It's too discombobulated for you to understand.
    >>
    >>750738943
ah yes, elite resource holders, belligerents and leaders such as art, a wanderer, and roger warwick, a subsistence farmer.

    Synths are people.
    They:
Have their own thoughts, desires, essentially consciousness.
    are able to reproduce.
    That's a human.

Whatever safeguards the Institute has over the synths, if that is to be removed, they instantly replace humanity. Because they literally cannot die.
    >>
    >>750738549
    His motives are complex
    >>
    >>750738874
Also to add to my post >>750739478
You know how machines make machines make machines make machines
Well humans make humans make humans make humans

We are a perpetual motion machine. We have been producing humans and if all humans are gone, there will be no more humans. Since the dawn of time, humans have been producing humans.

If synths can produce synths, that's it. it's over.
    >>
    >>750738549
    >Merely pretending to be retarded

by only doing things that make people distrustful of synths and fearful of being replaced by a synth the Institute can... umm... i wouldnt understand

    >synths sent to replace individuals by the Institute are not actually given false memories, they're just acting
    >standard synth production is largely random in terms of genetics appearance and personality
    >there is absolutely no mechanism in place to ensure synths remain loyal to the Institute. Synths remain loyal out of fear while the scientists assume they do so out of some intrinsic love for their creators.

    You wouldn't understand, okay!?
No seriously this is literally how the game handles the motives for the most important faction in the game
Fallout 4 was a bad game. Best thing it had going for it was okay-ish shooting and the rest was dogshit.
    >Bad story
    >Retarded/fucked up world (same issue as Fallout 3)
    >Bad side quests

Nah i think a drooling retard playing f4 blind could still beat it with the starter power armor

    >>750743220
you can beat it without that power armor too

It's possible to run out of cells and be forced to dump it, but not likely.
    I forgot more complaints
    >No skills, only perks
Which means you're obligated to buy the damage and crafting perks for the weapon type you like, so you can efficiently fight the enemies that keep scaling up. So, instead of skills dictating damage or weapon proficiency, it's all on what level your perk is.
And since perks are on a 70-square grid, you only have so many slots for perks that are actually interesting or affect how your playstyle works.
In NV you had enough perks in the game that combining some of them could allow the player to lean into using highly specific builds and weapons.
God, Fallout 4 was such a bad RPG.

I didn't realize that homeless bums, junkies and nobodies were such important people.
Also they don't even need to do that, they hunt down and kill traders to get resources.
Which is retarded too if they want resources. The best way to do it would be to simply trade with caravans and merchants with undercover or middlemen as to minimize traces and keep a steady supply going, not killing the people that create the flow of supplies.
Face it, they did not plan shit very well, they just wanted "boogymen" that could be anywhere and didn't give a shit about why.
    >>
    >>750746021
I'm still not sure if that's more or less retarded than
    >Generic bandit using Daedric
    that Oblivion had

Probably more retarded actually since Cyrodiil did have a whole bunch of gates to Oblivion open at the time
    >>
Why was Shaun replacing humans with synths?

Why did he even create synths at all? If he wanted manual labor he could just make robots, or stick to the Gen 2 Synths

Why was the Institute creating Supermutants and releasing them to the surface?

If Shaun wanted you to find him why did he never bother sending anyone to help you, why do you need to rely on Dogmeat sniffing a weeks-old cigar to track Kellogg across the wastes, why did he never try to retrieve you for over 60 years

If the Institute kept you alive because “you’re the backup” why did they kill everyone else in the vault? Having more samples of non-irradiated DNA should still be useful

If synths don’t need to eat or sleep why does Curie mention being hungry and sleepy after being turned into a synth? Also wouldn’t that be an obvious giveaway that someone is a synth

If synths do need to eat and sleep why does the synth Roger Warwick not need to sleep? If Roger Warwick is a synth spy, why would he deliberately draw attention to himself by never sleeping if he can sleep, but just doesn't need to? Why don’t synths gain weight?

If Kellogg was kept alive for 60 years through cybernetics then why does no one else in the entire wasteland or in the Institute have these cybernetics? If Shaun cancelled the program, Kellogg looks near identical to when he captured baby Shaun so those cybernetics must have been available for decades

Why did Shaun deliberately create a child synth version of himself to fake you out with? Did he read the script and realize he needed to do this to introduce a dramatic reveal of the twist?

Is Codsworth sentient? He cracks jokes and has opinions like a sentient being. What about Curie, she was a robot transplanted into a synth body. So was she actually sentient all along? If the robots are all sentient does that mean that they’re basically glorified slaves in the Fallout universe and killing them is tantamount to murder?

Redditors will decry The Institute as being evil nazis, but if they had to survive in the Fallout Universe, they'd choose to live there over the fucking wasteland.

You really should have quit while you were ahead before you exposed yourself as a retard.
Yes, the robots are sentient, they always have been. Yes its murder. In fact, if you take a close look at the setting, you might find hints that murder is actually becoming normalized. One subtle example is that Fallout takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with cannibal raider clans who torture and kill each other for fun.
    >>
    >>750749958
The robots are not all created equal. ADA and Curie are exceptions for instance. Codsworth spent 2 centuries trimming dead bushes
    >>
    >>750738549
You will never be smart enough to understand why he does what he does, you dumb retard, just trust the science.

Fallout 3 if the ending wasn't retarded
    >>

There are a multitude of sentient pre-war ghouls who have also chosen to spend a hundred years and change picking potatoes.
    >>
    >>750749958
    >Yes, the robots are sentient, they always have been
If that's the case why does The Institute take the stance that synths are not sentient if more basic robots are?
How could the most advanced and intelligent people get it so wrong?
    >>
    >>750750240
What was that about intelligent people being indistinguishable from wizards to stupid people
Or it was Bethesda's way of making social commentary on "the reckless advances of science" or whatever, which is also retarded
