How come modern metroidvanias almost never have any sequence breaking?
>>
>durrr I want to play the game but...OUT OF ORDER!!!
why is this so important for you idiots
(i don't care by the way so don't answer cause I'm not going to read, I'm actually gonna go take a big stinky shit like your metroidvania games are)

you mean glitching the game?

I mean being able to play through area, fight bosses, and gain abilities in multiple orders. Super Metroid had intentional sequence breaking with secret abilities like walljumping, shinespark, and bomb jumping. But there are other games that have unintentional sequence breaking with glitches, yes.

Most of them don't really need it since they're sufficiently open enough. Ironically, metroid games have become some of the most linear in the subgenre with barren exploration.
