That people wouldn't go as crazy if it was a spinoff or had different name.
I imagine "Ninja Gaiden Bloodraven" or or something similar would be pretty fitting.
In any case, i very much enjoyed my time with it. I think it's a fairly solid put game. I don't think it disrepects Ryu or anything. Yeah, he doesn't get much in terms of actual gameplay, but i suppose that is commendable on platinum's side for having enough confidence on Yakumo to carry the game, unlike, say DMC4 where it's more 50/50 the Dante/Nero split.
In any case, yeah i think it's an 8/10 game

You can Ut out of perfect dodge? I didn't really use the dodge because Yacuckmo's felt garbage to use and NG is usually about blocking. That's dumber than the jank ass tracking difference between the rapier and drill.
