It’s kind of amazing and embarrassing how well this game holds up. It’s not a slog to get through and it’s not too short either. The atmosphere is impeccable and the character dynamics are great. It doesn’t try too hard to be cinematic slop even though it does have a little bit of bullshit walk n talk cutscene in which your movement is restricted, but it’s not that annoying. The story is simple and enthralling, and the combat is satisfying as fuck once you figure out how you’re not supposed to just mash square. It’s not perfect but it really is a masterpiece IMO.It’s funny how Insomniac basically copied Rocksteady’s design philosophy for their superhero games but they miss the mark pretty hard by comparison.
