>"oh yeah, that happened"
>that story>that voice acting>that ending>that melee combatWHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Has one of these "from the devs of old game you liked here is new game like old game" ever gone down well?
>>750723929>people really loved dead space for the cool weapons which were just industrial tools used for dismemberment of a large varietly of enemy designs>lets remove them entierly and add a SHITTY as FUCK melee mechanic that plays itself on 2 enemy types!!>oh yeah and lets blow 90% of our multi million budget on mocapping shitty b movie actors! What were they thinking?
there's literally nothing wrong with it on a fundamental levelsure it aint no masterpiece but how many games you can name in the space horror genre, again?if you are into that shit what are you gonna do, replay dead space for the 23472393247329th time?
>>750724383Bully, Red Dead
>>750724383Bloodstained, Mikami establishing Tango Gameworks

>>750723929It's the best visuals I have seen in any game, and the best usage of ray-tracing as well. And it runs at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro.
>>750724383The problem is ususally that it is actually, "from one of the devs of old game you liked, here is a new game like old game (except for major terrible added /changed features)" like this 'spiritual sequel' to Dead Space being melee primarily.
>>750723929This game's only piece of cultural relevancy is that one death animation where his leg gets smashed off by the robot
I liked it
Haven't played it. Should play without the pressure to discard it coming from critics. Critics haven't been right about much. Their repetition is organised crime, games are generaly better if hated buy them. They have other motives. Sometimes to aquire what is ruined. Happened for, Reflections, IOI and id. Wasn't to their benefit. The jews are a bad people.Still probably not great. But there isn't a lot out there anymore. Might have something in it that makes it special. I'm not really into horror myself, i'd prefer devs tried to make scenarios and settings, as well as people, without problems. Like the best they could. Their worst is just an excuse.
I bought it for 30 bucks and liked it. Enjoyed the DLC too. Horror aesthetic tps games with good graphics are my weakness.
>>750723929I got this but haven't played it yet. Why is it though that these developers seem to be of the belief that survival horror games having poor combat was a mistake and that they absolutely must have "good combat" now? Survival horror is one of the genres where it really should not matter unless its something truly abysmal that doesn't even make sense but I never played a horror game like this.
>>750723929I remember playing Shadowman Remastered a few years after being disappointed by Calisto Protocol and was just thinking how the fuck is a remaster of an N64 game 100x better than this AAA modern slop
>>750724383Bloodstained.The Evil Within.Ratatan (Even if it's not a 1:1 copy).>>750724939>there's literally nothing wrong with it on a fundamental levelThere is so much wrong with it on a fundamental level.>The fact there's no safe system to store weapons or items means for 70% of the game you're either backtracking to shops to sell stuff or dropping half of your inventory to carry stuff that sells slightly more than ammo.>The entire melee system boils down to dodging two attacks and then doing a full combo prior to chapter 4's infection cutscene, or three attacks and then doing a full combo after it.>There is no reason to ever shoot a gun because it takes an absurd amount of shots to kill anything even with a fully upgraded gun and ammo is obnoxiously rare.>Weapon system works like Dead Space except you can't put guns away so enjoy all the ammo drops for guns that deal no damage while your one upgraded gun never gets anything.>You can literally softlock the game if you use too many bullets prior to Two-Heads 1 and 4 as you cannot melee attack it without dying and there's no instakill methods outside of 2 and 3.
I liked it, if it had 1-2 more weapons and they looked futuristic and 2-3 more enemy variety it would have been better.
