>>750724046It really needed the hard mode, I think I fought a few of the rematches but I remember stopping on Booster because he kept wrecking my shit.Never really bothered with the rest since I knew I had to grind for the post game stuff and I was severely underleveled after beating Smithy which is always fun to fuck around with.Still can't max out the super jump after 30 years.
playing this game a second time really reveals how short and easy it is. it needs a sequel.

Then Alpha Dream went out of business and Paper Mario went to shit, so we got this Mario RPG remaster, which seemed to come out of some degree of desperation about what to do with Mario RPGs. We'll see where it goes from here. We did get Brothership under new devs, so maybe we'll keep getting M&L games. Paper Mario has been shit for so long that it feels unsalvageable at this point. I wish they would just scrap it and make a real Mario RPG 2

I got to a business island and I had to rescue Luigi and just couldn't bother anymore, I just didn't care. I hope the series isn't dead but I doubt we'll get a new game.

>>750730351Not for the most part. SMRPG became a one-hit wonder due to being made by and stuck in the collaborational overlap between Nintendo and Square that ceased to exist by the end of the decade. The Mario & Luigi franchise is Nintendo's cope with effectively losing the SMRPG IP.
