>>750700217It's a bit silly since Ryu obviously always has been and always will be THE face of Street Fighter, but technically, each new numbered entry has its own "protagonist" for whatever the story is actually worth. In SF3 it was Alex, in SF4 it was Abel. In SFV it was Rashid. And now in SF6, it was Luke. Looking at that list, there are clearly some characters who have caught on (Alex, Rashid) more than others (Abel, Luke), but each is technically the protagonist of their respective games.>>750700381>nobody likes himIt's Capcom's fault that nobody likes him. It's not something that just happened by accident. They intentionally made Luke overpowered in SFV to try and hype him up as the new protagonist going into SF6, and it backfired spectacularly since everyone was already tired of dealing with him even before his own game launched.

>>750707837Except they went OUT OF THEIR WAY in SF6 to confirm that they are biologically related as well. in SF3, Tom was just Alex's adoptive father and Patricia was "just" a kind of adoptive sister. It wasn't until SF6 that they also felt the need to add a biological connection by making Tom a cousin of Alex's mother.
