>get hailed as Open World masterpieces and the reason to own a Switch>try them out>empty barren worlds >copy pasted shrines>the same 10 monsters everywhere>soulless NPCs>the worst story I have ever experienced >TOTK is literally the same game just with Roblox added in>Zelda is a cuntthanks guys, they were truly a masterpiece!
Coming up on a decade of cope. Incredible.
>>750695058>almost an entire decade of switchcucks coping that ubislop zelda is actually goodAmazing isn't it
The map is far from empty.BotW was literally the long-waited CURE to all the Ubishit cancers that had accumulated and plagued the "open world" genre since the late-00s. It has way more in common with likes of STALKER than any AssCreed / FC slop from the past 16 years.BotW is a truly unpatronizing, really open-ended adventure game, with shittons of interactive systems and mechanics, that result crazy amounts of fun emergent gameplay. No two playthroughs are ever the same... but if you are an ADHD plebeian with no drive for exploration, experimentation and discovery, then you quite likely won't get it.
>>750695325the truth is, Open World games have always been lazy game design
>>750695325>loved by braindead journosThat's how you know it can't be good
>>750695372No, they have not.See, this is exactly the problem with you iPhone era toddlers: you were born in the middle of the DECLINE era, and think that the modern slop (that has been plaguing the whole industry for 20 fucking years now) would be all there has ever been.Games like STALKER, BotW and Death Stranding make the world and traversal the "main character". Average Ubislop just uses it as an empty padding between its mandatory story-bits and other roadblocks.>>750695440It is loved by PEOPLE all around the world.Being contrarian and a hipster ceased to be cool already during the Obama's days.BotW is literally the greatest video game since the Majora's Mask.Unfortunately, the Piss5 generation Tiktok addicts are too ADHD to even understand it.
you have to understand, nintentodlers are used to playing bing bing wahoo kiddie games, to them this IS a masterpiece, they dont know that videogames can be more
>muuuh nintendoplayed both of those on pc, you just have shit taste
>>750695487You're the one that posted the journo compilation retard
>>750694858There's always this double standard when people talk about open world games, between ones they like and ones they don't, the latter of which they always complain about having all this empty space. They all do, and I can't think of a single example I've played where this is noticeably more the case compared to its contemporaries to the point of being genuinely detrimental to the experience. And it's a silly point to begin with, because "empty space" is essential in open world games. It's almost always the case that the point of them is to make you feel like you've been set in a real place, and real places aren't filled ass to elbow with shit to do that all happens to be relevant to your existence as an adventurer, you have to travel to get to places to do stuff in real life. Sometimes walking if it's a short distance, sometimes driving or even flying if it's really far away. Real worlds aren't built to cater specifically for your convenience, they're built for large populations to live and coexist in. Open world games are supposed to make you feel like "What if one such place played host to grand adventures about robots or some shit?" So if that's not something you're down with, then open world games aren't your cup of tea, which is perfectly fine, ignore them and play other shit. And if they are your cup of tea and there are others in the genre you enjoy, then you actually don't have an issue with the empty space and are just pretending to in order to pad out the list of complaints about a game you don't like for completely unrelated and probably very petty reasons like console fanboyism.
>>750695325>>750695487>tendies trying not to talk like braindead cultists challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
>>750695961There's a double standard people tend to have when it comes to Zelda games in general. Lazy UI design, patronizingly low difficulty, style over substance approach to design all get dismissed as long as it has Zelda on the title. I'm aware all things have people who do that but Zelda seems to be the best example of this.
>>750694858TOTK is actually annoying to play, controls are bad, especially running and jumping. There's also a constant stream of interruptions which makes it very tedious game. It's not bad per se but I don't know what else to say.
I like the Switch Zelda games fine for what they are, and TotK is genuinely impressive mechanically even if the game is just a gloirified DLC.That said, take Zelda branding off of them for a minute. No Link, no Ganon, no rupees and hearts. Now you've got a new open world IP. Does it hold up as a masterpiece?I don't think it does.
>>750694858There is a game just for you.
>>750695138Other way around. The game is pretty fun.
>>750696593>a souless remake sorry anon, but OoT has my attention for that spot rn
>>750695601You're the one who started crying about it.>>750696043>tourist seething and not even trying to argueOriginal.
open world games are all shit
