/v/ is wrong again, Starfield is actually a fun game.
>>
>>750679347
no
>>
>>750679347
I can't believe there's a budget still allocated to shill this piece of fucking nigger shit
>>
The complete lack of player retention shows that it was not a very good game.
>>
>>750679347
Dark Souls 2 fans are at it again huh
>>
>>750679347
>its just dumb fun :P
yeah we know you're retarded
>>
>>750679691
this is the worst case of rent free I have ever seen
>>
>>750679347
Starfield wonned or something
>>
>>750679347

It's fun until you run out of quests to do and then it's boring as shit
>>
>>750679347
Unironically another game that ages like fine wine as time goes on, regardless of whatever haters yap about. Not much differently than past BGS games when they launched. Cheers, OP.
>>
>>750682632
You are brown.
>>
>>750679565
Starfield sold very well tho. It made a hefty profit unlike so many other games we mock.
>>

Starfield had a small number of good things that felt like they were held back by its scope and its refusal to have any depth or nuance to speak of, which applies to both the narrative and the gameplay.
There are a lot of good ideas that just aren't paced well, or they don't get fleshed out as much as they deserve to be, or they railroad you into a single conclusion even if you have the means to solve a problem a different way.
The game would be way better off if the number of planets was cut way down and the content that exists was placed with more care. And it would have been nice if it all flowed together more naturally.

Where it really falls apart, in ways that couldn't be fixed with straightforward adjustments, is in the places the writers couldn't decide on the tone of the game. What good there is in the writing comes in the parts where they're presenting the world as something you're meant to take seriously and let plot threads drive you forward out of curiosity.
But the most interesting threads that exist in the whole game are just background noise. There's this sense that you missed everything truly interesting and worthy of your time, it all happened just before the game starts.
So you're just left to speculate about all that cool shit and its implications for a setting that's now mostly at peace.

In gameplay terms, the game suffers because they made progression about earning core features instead of building on top of them, and more than that, the progression system has no sense of gradual growth to it at all. There are usually about five stages to everything you can do or equip, and three of them are beneath the point where you'd start in an Elder Scrolls or Fallout game. So you never stop feeling weak.

I really hope they take all the writing and gameplay criticisms from Starfield to heart for TES VI, because if they repeat any of those mistakes at all, it's going to completely sink Sentinel.

I love every BGS game from Morrowind to Fallout 4 but I just find Starfield to be the most boring game I have ever played.

I tried replaying it recently, and I just thought;
>I'd rather play any other bethesda game
>>
Nice to see the Halloween season can even bring some people back from the dead so that they can die on this this retarded hill a second time.
>>
>>750679565
The game sold very well and there's a lot of gamers who enjoyed the game especially with the hardcore gamers you'd find on /v/.
>>
>>750684058
Honestly once you get some mods to tweak the gameplay depth of the systems it isnt a bad game at all, you can tell they had some ideas for things but the built a robust enough system that allowed modders to add more depth to them which in turn makes the game better.
>>
Years after the release the game has good qualities... qualities overshadowed by major issues caused by developer decisions at the start of it's inception... mainly the damn loading screens.

It is enjoyable... but falls really damn short, adding to the slow but steady decline that is the list of Oblivion-Skyrim-Fallout4.

I picked it up with a huge discount and do not regret it, but it also makes me kinda sceptical about the next TES game.
Have a bump so the board is not exclusively filled with weeb shit.

If that were true they would have announced a sequel. It sold like dogshit. Low end estimation of budget was $200,000,000. High estimation of owners is 5,000,000. Even if that is the number, and all 5 million bought the game at full price, they didn't even make back their development budget once you factor in storefront cuts and taxes. And they didn't sell 5 million copies.
>>
>>750683552
It sold better on Playstation than Xbox, despite it being a lengthy timed exclusive. What that says about the game or Xbox is open to interpretation.

B-but it s-sold very w-well
>>
>>750684972
It really is the worst game Bethesda has ever made. Terrible writing and incredibly boring quests.
>>
>>750679565
I can't believe this retard still works in the game industry. His writing is god awful trash.
>>
>>750682632
Indeed. It's not for everyone though, and that's a good thing.
>>
>>750686825
It didn’t, shartfield flopped and bethesdaniggers like you can’t accept that so have to keep making these dogshit threads to cope and act like if you keep saying “ITS GUD NOW GUISE WE SWEAR” that it’s going to stop it from being a steaming pile of shit.
>>
>Day one gamepass slop
>Sold well
>>
It just looks boring. In visuals, setting and gameplay. Should have went full space opera/fantasy with ayliums and bizzare flora and fauna on distant worlds. Developing a space TES seems like such an obvious recept for success.
>>
What are some actual positive things about it?

Starfield is peak "10PM game after everyone went to sleep" so I understand why white uncs love it so much. Very comfy, although the loading screens are annoying. Maybe 10 years later with stronger PCs it will be more fun when they load in 0.5 seconds just like in Skyrim, lol

Hard Agree
Modern NASA punk was the biggest mistake
They should have leaned heavily into the space opera with Flash Gordon and Buck Rodgers influences mixed with 50s style sci fi to give it that fallout connection feel
>>
>>750687149
it was free on xbox
>>
>>750689794
It made Bethesda a laughing stock and Saarfield as punching bag for better games
>>
>>750689808
there is no content in the game to make the loading screens an issue
>>
>>750679347
starfield is overhated
>>
Bethesda niggers truly are a cult. Todd Howard could get on stage only to pull his pants down, goatse the audience then take a fat steaming visibly diseased shit right in front of everyone and Bethesda niggers would start pogging hard while screaming that it was a life-changing event for them.
>>
>>750690279
No, bethesda is underhated.
>>
>>750690279
where's the blood if I am supposed to be impressed by the enemies that all die in one shot anyways
>>
>>750690279
Did that character say that after he got shot in the head?
>>

i played it on release. did they fix anything since?
