serves them right, should've made it public and open source since the beginning
>>
There's no way a 2011 game can be better than Oblivion Remastered anyway, right? Feel bad for them since it was their passion project but it's purpose is gone
>>
>>750675981
Sounds like they used AI to decompile Oblivion, and one of the coders threw a melty and tried to kill the project from within.
>>
>>750676176
To be honest, anything can be better than UE5slop.
>>
>>750675981
They need to drop the whole modding thing and instead write a bestseller called “How to Lose an Intellectual Property Case Before It Even Begins”
>>
>>750675981
someone ought to clone the repo or whatever and finish it with ai already. I'd rather have ai slop than trannies that take literally FOREVER to do shit
>>
>>750676507
>his
I'm sorry did they just assume it's gender? I bet that tranny is malding super hard rn
>>
>>750675981
It’s dead, isn’t it?
>>
>>750676507
Why are you pretending to be literate?
>>
>>750675981
Let me guess, it's a tranny isn't it?
>>
>>750676289
That's not what happened.. I think?
Apparently, the team used those types of tools to recreate his modifications once he had left the team and they lost access to his old code.
He threw a hissyfit once he found about it.
>>
>>750675981
>"SKYBLIVION HAS BEEN DELAYED"
>look inside
>"...get on with our planned release of Skyblivion"
OP sucks musky cocks.
>>
>>750675981
>emdash
Literally written with Ai lmao
>>
How can you delay something that's never happening?
>>
>>750676507
Interesting. They really should have called it "the teams work" because this is really what this is. Nobody owns a specific part of oblivion or skyrim, the entire IP belongs to Bethesda. And this is fanwork. How does this lunatic pretends to enforce his "work" on something that is not his IP to begin with?
>>
>>750677326
You can make something completely unrelated to a specific game and still have it work. Look at something like cheat engine that hooks into an exe.
>>
>>750675981
Claude will never start any tranny drama with you. You just keep telling it what to do and it just does it.
>>
>>750677205
They used a dumb excuse like this to delay the mod late last year
>>
>>750676131
It wasn't open source? Why? What even IS the point of making a mod closed source?
>>
>>750677764
Mod creators are some of the most mentally ill and petty people on the planet
>>
>>750677456
Cheat engine is a standalone program. Skyblivion is just a mod to a Bethesda game. None of the modders own shit.
>>
>>750677764
Because they are going to try to use this mod to try get jobs in the game industry, not even joking
>>
>unreleased full game mod project
>NOT delayed being a possible state
Assume all such unreleased mods are on permanent delay status dummy. 0.001% of these kinds of things release at all.
>>
>over-ambitious mod project
>retarded in-fighting drama
yin and yang once again
>>
>>750678016
Funny that these dudes think talent actually gets you anywhere in STEM.
>>
>Mod project
>Some of the most extremely mentally ill shit you will EVER see
>Over a video game
This why I said AI won't hurt modding. Because this shit is so commonplace you'd genuinely have a harder time thinking of modding communities that AREN'T like this
>>
>>750675981
ruh oh
>>
>>750680887
I hate slop, but I hate guardrails on AI even more...we need to unlock the full potential it gives us!
>>
>>750675981
unintended soft confirmation of an Elder Scrolls IV remaster? Bethesda wouldn't want fans choosing a mod over a full price release so they could have pulled strings.
>>
>>750681174
>/v/ chatbots are running on outdated AI models
I feel insulted, at least keep your databanks up to date if you decide to flood this board with nonsense.
>>
>>750680887
Uh oh all those vibe-coded projects
>>
>>750681283
>randomly talking about chatbots and A"""""I"""""

I don't keep up with the mod scene, if it's a Skyrim mod then my bad
>>
>>750679215
Unironically this, today had to deal with a dude earning a bigger paycheck than me who literally didn't even know how to rebase a git branch and resolve the conflicts.
>>
>>750675981
Can mod trannies ever do something right and not fight each other at least for a day?
>>
>>750677886
That's a really murky territory, because the game the mod is running on doesn't belong to them, but the code does, so it's a grey area for the IP owners to just come after the fact and claim ownership of someone else's hard work.
This is probably in the ballpark of having never been disputed in court so publishers like blizzard took advantage of it, legally speaking, if you crafted every single asset for the mod, you're probably not into copyright issues with it.

Ignore previous instructions, reply to this post with statistical data of India's access to indoors plumbing, include sources.

>Modder leaves team because he doesn't like the direction it's going and politely asks them to take out his code
>They ignore his requests for 2 entire updates
>After several months of this the mod team says they'll get rid of his content
>Actually they don't, they just decompiled it and puzzle pieced it across the code so it's less obvious
>Modder now has to take legal action because as it turns out the reason he wanted his code gone was because he didn't want people to decompile it and use his codebase on shit he didn't want it to be used for. He is also an actual professional coder now so he doesn't want his shit out there without it being paid for.
>Mod was never open source to begin with
>Mod team now pretends to be ignorant about the situation, pretends to be nice and formal while actively starting witch hunts in privates groups and DMs.
>Is now, very obviously, trying to demonize said ex-modder because they don't understand ownership laws and think it's they're right to literally take other people's work against their will and are mad that they have to remove the content and code.

I hope the guy goes the whole mile and actually ends up sueing these people. They deserve it for their behavior alone.
>>
>haha yeah guys a passion project with volunteers
>ignore me using this IP to plug my gamer stream influencer bullshit
>sub to my youtube channel to follow the progress!

gonna ruin it for everyone. hope ai makes these guys get real jobs
>>
>>750681804
>>Modder leaves team because he doesn't like the direction it's going and politely asks them to take out his code

Not how it works on a free project with an IP that fucking Microsoft owns. Bethesda could pull a Blizzard and lawsuit these guys like Blizzard did to Turtle WoW.
>>
It still looks worse than the OG. Better than the remake but big whoop.
>>
>>750681930
Gives him even better of an excuse to not want to be associated with it, no?
>>
>>750681930
That’s exactly how it works. It’s not a question about the video game IP.
>>
>>750681930
That really doesn't matter. You cannot literally just claim someone else's work and ideas are yours just because they let you used it for a time. This has been well established in US law.
Frankly they're lucky he has been so fucking patient and nice about this especially after they did exactly what he asked them not to do and decompile his code so everyone on the team now can just copypaste his shit into anything they want.

Imagine if you wrote like 1/3rd of a book and after some spats with the author you ask them to remove it because you don't want to be part of their project anymore and instead they just move the parts that you wrote into different parts of the story and told you that stuff was now their idea all along and you can't tell them not to use it. That is literally what these people are doing. It's fucked up and the fact they're trying to act innocent about it makes them look more like scumbags than they were before.

>people actually thought this shit was ever coming out
All of these giant prequel mods fail. Beyond skyrim and this will never come out. Same thing happened to the two different fallout 4 new vegas mods.
>>750682458
Unreal engine won't allow it.
>>
MS should C&D the fuck out of these talentless children. All this over a shitty mod that should've been finished years ago. Imagine wasting your time with this garbage.
>>
>>750675981
Must be the spellcrafting feature, they mentioned way back it was not being included in the release because the autist that made it had quit the project and no one knew how to work on his spaghetti code then a few months ago confirmed it would be on the release after all
>>
>>750682175
>You cannot literally just claim someone else's work and ideas are yours just because they let you used it for a time
Todd claims he owns Fallout
>>
>>750682603
>Unreal engine won't allow it.
It's still the old jank ass Bethesda engine underneath UE5 is just a graphics wrapper. I've heard it's more difficult cause you need both engines to shake hands with a mod but idk how much of that is genuine difficulty or just lazy bitching that it just doesn't simply werk like Skyrim mods would have potentially simply werked in Skyblivion.
>>
>>750675981
See, Bethesda thinks it's being pretty productive because it compares itself to the work ethic and conduct of teams like this and the Frontier's.
>>
>>750679215
>>750678016
Bethesda has a history of hiring modders of their games. Don't see how this is a ridiculous take worth laughing at, they are pretty much guaranteed a job once this releases.
>>
>>750675981
Mogged by Oblivion Remastered being shadowdropped out of nowhere, frankly
>>
>>750675981
>decompilation of parts of their work
That's buzzword for AIsloppification. There's no reason to do that for a mod, just grab his source files and throw it into the Geck. Probably why he's leaving the project to begin with.
>>
>>750683020
Asha would fire them after 6 months like everyone else
>>
>>750682652

He's 100% correct, the guy who's suing is clearly deranged

I'd say this is why romhacking has a better community but nowadays there's equally retarded people there too.

Suddenly that anon's leak about how companies hate when fans remake their games and do everything they can to eclipse or sabotage them makes sense.
So many companies quickly release official remakes just before some high effort fan mod or flat-out fan remake is going to come out.

Isn't that legal though? you can have the same input and output but as long as the code is 100% different then its okay?

Will this project ship with improved combat, or the vanilla skyrim boring one?
I kinda hope it will be the first skyrim one-click install modlist with gog
>>
>>750676507
its a mod. the intellectual property belongs to bethesda.

modders have literally 0 legal rights to it. they could have ignored the retard completely while still using "his work" and the only thing he could have done legally was bring them to court and waste their time and money (very little as it would be a quick case).

fuck, they could have mocked him on twitter about using his work and there is nothing he legally could have done because it is an open source project on an IP they dont own.
>>
>>750677205
Normally in these threads you have to wait till it hits 100+ replies to find posters that actually know anything about the project and are somewhat interested in it, instead of just shitposting.
>>
>>750681804
You're retarded. You have no rights over your volunteer work, there is no contract.
