I loved GTA3 and San Andreas but no matter how many times I try to play VC, I always get bored and stop playing halfway through.

It's a great game. I do agree that it is not stupendous, and one of the weaker entries in the series, but at the time of its release I was quite ecstatic. The graphics were great and I mean that all the way to the color palette and the UI. Even today booting it up and playing it feels very 80's, it's great. The biggest problem is there really wasn't that much more than III. You didn't really feel that at the time because open world games were still extremely novel.

I liked it because you actually build up money to buy new properties and snowball wealth to progress, where as in a lot of the newer games its just a linear story.
