You knew at some point Giygas was gonna show up. I could talk about this thing until the cows come home, but i'll try to limit it to one post. Giygas is the embodiment of out of no where horror. The game is all sunshine, rainbows, and quirked up kids beating up hippies, packed with all sorts of pop culture references and nostalgic vibes. Then, once you reach the cave of the past, the switch immediately gets flipped. Suddenly you're in this dreary and minimalistic wasteland with a distorted sample from the Beach Boys playing in the background. Then you reach Giygas proper, along a path of pulsating tubes and ambient breathing sounds. Then there's the fight itself. Porky thinks it would be a fantastic idea to turn of Giygas's apparatus, drowning everything in a drugged fueled nightmare with some are guessing to be the remains of his visage wobbling in the background. The fight progressively gets more and more crazy, with reality seemingly of the verge of collapse, and all you can do is call for help, because physical attacks don't actually do anything against him. Once the final prayer is spoken, one Giygas is destroyed, only then can you find relief. This represents a true trial by fire, where everywhere you step is steeped in flames, and only by the end will you finally know peace.
