There’s 3 routes in the first game with 3 different characters but in 2 there’s only one but that one is more fleshed out and polished than all 3 from the first game combined.Pathologic 2 is one route, Pathologic 3 is the second character’s route, and I assume Pathologic 4 will be the final route.But in terms of weaving gameplay into story and philosophical horror, Pathologic 2 is unmatched

The game was very different from A Link to the Past. I love the emphasis on characters, especially your relationship with Marin developing over the game. No Zelda game had that up until that point. I would say it paved the way a lot for Ocarina of Time despite being on a handheld. How they squeezed a 15-20-ish hour adventure on a system that was mostly arcade ports and puzzle games is beyond me
