It's still a decent game all things considered.
>>

Ocarina of Time But Better.

That's too broad a category

I want a complete, direct upgrade. What was confusing about that? I want every single thing OoT does, but done better. Better combat. Better paced activities. Better world design. Better dungeon design. Better puzzles. Better exploration. I want a game that does everything OoT does, but better. I will accept nothing less, no compromise, in my search for the game that has made OoT less than amazing in today's eye.

graphics, performance, difficulty

You're contradicting yourself even if you don't realize it, you can either want everything Oot does, or you can want better than that.
>>
>>750669187
OoT filled that category just fine in 1998. What's the hold up finding a replacement?

You're retarded.

If OoT is only "decent" then show me the game that has surpassed it in every way. Give me the worthy successor.
>>
>>750668589
None. It's the best full package ever. Every 3D Zelda after it is better in some ways but never all at once.

Only part of this game I'm genuinely not fond of is the 10 Big Poes for the final bottle. Very replayable, especially with QoL stuff in SoH

The main problem is that most people have no clue what an Action-Adventure is even supposed to be. They think it's the same as an Action-RPG because "Adventuring" means quests and shit, right?
Wrong.
The "Adventure" is in reference to old PC-Adventure games like Myst or Curse of Monkey Island. Puzzle games.

A GOOD Action-Adventure is one that is 50% puzzling (and exploration), 50% Action and imho Zelda is the one that is closest in that balance, which makes it the quintessential Action-Adventure series.
Every other goes way too hard into Action, making them not Action-Adventure games but just Action games with an occasional puzzle for a break.

The balance between action and puzzling also means that the deeper your combat, the harder the puzzles need to be. Which naturally limits how "deep" your combat system can be. If puzzles are easy, the combat needs to be too. The game will overall be easier, but it will still have the ideal action/puzzling balance relatively speaking.
This also explains all the Koroks in BotW/TotK: there need to be puzzles EVERYWHERE in the world to maintain that balance for 100+ hours even on repeated trips to a zone.

So when asking on a Zelda competitor you need to ask on which other series maintains the action/puzzle balance. If you just argue on combat alone then you don't understand what an Action-Adventure is or what Zelda is about. IMO Okami came the closest so far. And Dark Souls is most definitely not one. It may have some cryptic shit, but it doesn't really have any real puzzles and is overwhelmingly about combat.

I'm not the one who had a problem replacing Oot, lol.

Fuck off, find one yourself.

This is just word salad, I bet you felt real smart typing it.

I agree with your feelings but not with your arguments.

What Zelda games excel at cannot be accounted for just weighing combat and rpg mechsnics, whatever those are supposed to be.

What Zelda games do that few other gamed get right is the interaction with the environment aswell as the enemies, organically and through the systems thst come to be through monster.
