I've made like 10 threads hating on this game and each time like 2 people show up to defend it, it's pathetic

Its the #1 poser game
I know multiple men and women who made SH2 their entire personality when theyve never even played it, they just watched some tiktok edits or whatever.

While im at it the other big poser things are RE4, The Silmarillion, prog metal, the horror genre in general, and for women whatever their boyfriend is currently playing. Its absolutely hilarious bringing up any of these things with those people where you ask them specific things and they have to pretend they cant remember anything about it because they "played" it so long ago
>>
>>750665929
>something has to be fun or replayable to be excellent
You're an idiot. Sometimes you have such a perfect first experience with something that you never want to tarnish that memory by revisiting it. SH2 is one of these things - you play it once, have an incredible experience in a game that is not terribly fun, and then never play it again while cherishing the memory.

These. All 3 hyped for memes to fit in. All 3 had topic showing people clearly had not played them, where they'd talk about the variety of playstyles in strangers (all weapons are just use MP once to break armor and all weapon skills are just elemental hits, all classes only differ in weapon selection and 1 singular skill) and its difficulty (its piss easy even on hard mode as every enemy is stunlocked at 0 effective cost since a a single mp skill breaks armor and lets you just mash x until they die), how awesome the final fight is and how good the gameplay of that fight is in Rising (as that's the youtube video they watched; in reality its a setpiece fight with QTE's) and... nothing with DMC5. There would be no meaningful discussion of the game at all, they just dumped memes to fit in.
The cat fucker game is in the same boat but that one was clearly paid marketers and died as soon as cheques cleared

i played it this year for spooktober. good game
>>
>>750665545
in the end the hate and obsession is more ugly than anything else. they're just games. you dont get more powerful or more based the more games you play, especially when you play them with that intent from the start. i've never enjoyed talking about games or anime with people that wear them like badges
>>
>>750665929
'People' who 'play' SH2 multiple times are completely missing the point/tryhards. It's a movie game, one of the few good ones.

i played DEUS EX , HR AND MKD back to back, i had so much more fun in the first one than the others. it s actually probably top 5 games for me
>>
>>750666885
They were alright. DMC5 was fun. Never finished SoP and MGR was too short
I preferred Bayonetta 1/2 over MGR (never played Bayo 3 though)
One day I'll go back and play SoP properly but I didn't like the gear system

11 hours is a sign you didn't enjoy those games, 50+ means you actually had some back and forth struggle that led you to keep coming back and forth, you didn't like FF and MGR

10 hours the first time, last time I played it was 6 hours. If you only wanna play it once then play the bloated piece of shit demake instead.
>>
>>750667495
>if you only play games once, you also like absolute fucking dogshit made by retards
"No."
>>
>>750667461
Metal Gear Rising isn't an incredibly long game. 17 hours is enough to have played it through to completion once. I never went back and replayed it multiple times mostly because a lot of the random mook encounters are shit and I just wanted to fight bosses
You're right about FF
DMC I did go through multiple runs and had spent a bunch of time redoing certain fights like Cavaliere Angelo because they were fun
>>
>>750665545
Nobody talks about deus ex anymore tho

Nah Ico is absolute kino. I replayed it recently and it holds up. Very few games give you that "holding hands with a cute retarded girl" feeling

DMC5 might be the least discussed most memed game on the planet

I finally got around to playing it for the first time last year and it's really good up until the last few levels or so when it becomes really linear and sort of just the samey grey corridors.

Everything up until Hong Kong is fantastic pacing wise and then the stuff with Paris and The Knights Templar is good but at around the Air Force Base and underwater level it just turns into a bit of a slog and it loses track of what made most of the game good however the ending choices are cool and tie into the games themes nicely so it's worth seeing the game through to the ending.

As with any game SOUL can carry some of the more lackluster elements and it's undenyably a classic.

I played System Shock 1 and 2 and also loved those for similar reasons (really did not like the remake of System Shock 1 though felt like it missed a lot of the aesthetics and vibes of the OG especially with the final levels where it's supposed to be a living organism HR Giger nightmare and it's just..............grey corridors).

The only advice I'd give new comers is if you're going to try and do a stealth no kill run is too look up a video before you start of where the game wants you to hit enemies with you baton to knock them out.

I didn't know beforehand and thought it was just impossible to do a stealth no kill run for a while but then a friend explained that you hit them in the back (not the head) and it clicked for me.

Granted stealth no kill runs are hard when that Hong Kong vibrosword kicks so much ass and is fun as fuck to use.

That doesn't make any sense. MGS has always been controversial and people who don't like it never had a problem saying they don't like it. There's no echochamber around MGS

No, zoomer version is "larp". Which admittedly has existed long before them, but that's the term they appropriated and use.

controller is why HR has contextual takedowns and only 4 active augment buttons while the original you can toggle each individual augment on and off at will.
