When the games are reversed engineered they can see what functions in these system libraries are being called. As they reverse more games they discover more things. But also, there's a lot of system libraries that aren't actually needed to play those games, you might have something like a web browser that's just used to display a manual or something, so at first all of those weren't added to this list as they were extremely low priority, but as more and more system libraries have been reverse engineered and reimplemented they've started adding these less important libraries for completeness sake.
