The way NPCs remembered you and later continued their stories in quests was done pretty well though, made the world feel pretty alive when you come back like 140 hours later and some NPC you remember says hello and wants to pay you back for a thing you did for them.

CONTROL Resonant is the one i'd vote for GOTY but the other are worth playing too. 007 First Light and Galactic Racer are some of the best *movie games* ever made. Genuinely one of the hardest years for GOTY because it's all 8/10 games. Everyone has an argument for why each of those games deserves it and it's not one game that absolutely mogs everything else. It's a great year for video games.
