the greatest console to have never existed
>>
>>750657169
I want to know what secret of mana looked like on it
>>
>>750657601
Probably looked about the same, iirc they cut the story out almost entirely and had to delete a bunch of bosses and late game content to fit it on the cart.
>>
>>750657601
just look at sega cd games. they don't really look better than megadrive ones
all that cd tech of the time added was orchestral soundtracks and (really bad, low res and low framerate) fmv support
>>
>>750658061
Sega CD had hardware sprite scaling and rotation.
>>
>>750657928
Is that what happened? No wonder half of it doesn't make sense and several literal whos are the major antagonists

>Super Disc System Cartridge
The what now?
>>
If this console existed people would think Nintendo was caving into Sega's CD bullshit.
>>
>>750657601
The same, because it was a vanilla SNES with a cd drive attached and a megabyte of extra RAM (necessary because of the CD loading). The only extra thing it would have added was better streaming audio. All the video functions were the same, aside from being able to store a CDs worth of it, so plenty of ugly as sin FMVs.
>>
>>750658213
The name of the console was "Sony PlayStation SuperDisc". Do 5 minutes of research.
>>
>>750658061
Yeah, people need to remember that adding CD-ROM support just expands storage capacity - it doesn't really improve the hardware in any other way, unless the add-on has other extra hardware to do so. The most you could've expected from a hypothetical Nintendo PlayStation was a bit more CPU power.

..and then there's the issue of optimizing around disc reading and load times - something that carts didn't have to deal with.
>>
>>750658174
Yeah I think Dyluck was supposed to have a story arc that was scrapped and the Sprite had a real story too, but it was all trashed swiftly because they just wanted to project out.
>>
>>750658142
The one in the OP pic would not have added any extra tech beyond the CD drive, RAM, and ability to stream 38khz adpcm (which the SNES APU could already do, it just didn't have the storage for it).

They still did.
>>
>>750658418
That's shitty. Even Sega put an extra M68K at 10MHz into the Sega CD

>Do 5 minutes of research.
Sure. Let me just stop everything I'm doing and research archaic console lore for 5 minutes. Brilliant response.

Nigger, you're posting on /v/.
>>
>>750658436
That game isn't canon.
>>
>>750658921
The CD-I still is real thoughbeit
>>
>>750658997
I don't believe that. It was just an excuse to make YouTubePoops.
>>
>>750657169
where tf do the cartridges go
>>
>>750657928
Makes sense. The game we got is pretty much over when you get the dragon.
