Dude you can't fucking move in this game. You run at like half the speed of the original, most of my deaths in the game were from being grabbed by a zombie I didn't think would be faster than me. Not to mention the fucking inertia like it's a super monkey ball game. This was playing on Hard, does Hard/Claire/2nd run make you slower or something?
>>750656778her fat arse slows her down
>>750656778Hard zombies have very good homing grab. They will 90% of the time will grab you even when their backs are against you unless they're busy with certain animations. I remember they have a unique stumble animation that you can easily pass through. They also lunge twice and will beeline into you if they somehow miss the first. Their lunge speed matches your max running speed, so you can't usually angle around them.tl;dryou have to stun them or shoot the legs in hard.
I modded RE9 to x1.20 speed for Grace and Leon. It's good now.
>>750656778skill issue
>>750658561When I can run faster than the actual game character it's a game issue literally. I shouldn't have to remind myself that this able bodied early 20s police officer can't run half as fast as me
>>750656778Stick to COD, broski
>>750658838>muh realismThat really the argument you wanna go with bro?
>>750659163I mean yea, considering the entire remake exists to be a more serious and realistic version of the original. If you're going to complain about muh muh muh realism you may as well not like the game to begin with
>>750656778I'm not usually the type to use the "git gud scrub" argument, but it's an appropriate response to your post. I generally suck at video games and I didn't have any trouble beating this on Hard with only like three deaths. So um...git gud scrub.
just play the original instead.
Use a trainer like a normal white person
>He doesn't appreciate Resident Evilerino 2 RemakinoEnd yourself. OG RE2 aged like a woman.
>>750659678>I waited years and years to post a dead memeThat's great man. I didn't have any trouble getting through the game either.>>750659714I already have, I'm just mad because I wanted a harder version of 2 and I got what I wanted technically, but all the reasons the game is "harder" are just tedious bullshit like my max running speed being a light jog and bullets doing magically less damage because I don't miss shots
>>750656778Never had this problem.
Does OP work for kotaku?
>>750657447>claire>fat assthank you Ireeeeeeland.
>>750656778Never had that issue with RE2R but I did have it with RE4R. That game wasn't fun to play because of that
>>750658838On that logic you should be bothered about how slowly the guy turns in the original, or how he's incapable of moving and aiming at the same time.
>when you play at 20fps and wonder why the game feels sluggish
>>750661664I'm actually not bothered by that because the game is 30 years old. Any other strawman arguments want to see stick?
Ah so old good new bad and OP was bait all along. I suspected that might be the case.
>>750658838>I shouldn't have to remind myself that this able bodied early 20s police officer can't run half as fast as meThe second they get to the police station they get slammed into by a fully loaded tanker going full speed that sends them flying head on into another car. Jesus Christ you lack critical thinking skills.
>>750662117Hmmm except he was running the same speed at the gas station. But aside from that, this is one of the dumbest, most autistic arguments I've ever seen on this website. Why does Leon not die when he gets bitten? Wouldn't he get infected? I guess the whole game is irredeemable garbage then. Actually the entire series.
>>750661838>I'm actually not bothered by that because the game is 30 years old.No. All you've done to provide a explanation for the reason for your problem. You wouldn't have explained why it isn't a problem for you.Even then you're acknowledging there being tech limitations that hold the original back, a reason to embrace the new game. The game already checks other boxes for gameplay and improved realism so it's weird to have a hang up on that.
>>750661664btfo
>>750656778you know there's a sprint button right
>>750662305They're carefully investigating what they sense is a sketchy situation. You're making me realize this game is better than I thought, because they actually do provide valid reasons through storytelling why the characters would move the way they do. Good job, retard.
Game sucks don't play.
>>750662305>>750662508Also >muh realismComplete and utter retard. Pretending to be retarded for attention is still being retarded, Anon.
>>750656778No, Hard mode doesn't make you slower.I never felt slow in this desu, so I can't relate. You can usually run right behind zombies.
>game known for being able to run past 90% of enemies>"wtf I can't run past enemies, game is bugged or some shit!!!!!!1111one"
This thread has to be one of the most illuminating threads I've seen here in a while, these have to be literal bots replying to op, nothing else would make sense. It's like the arguments are real arguments you could make but so pointless and refutable to an actual human being. Especially the "they run slower after they're hit by a car" guy. They're irrationally angry over like one single quality of the game and will deny it even if everyone knows it. Even if you're super afraid of tank controls, you can just watch a playthrough on youtube and look at how much faster the run speed is.
Heavy steps carry weight only when momentum is measured against static ground. If the pavement moves faster than the boots running across it, the survivor isn't slowing down—they're just keeping time with the collision mesh. Ask yourself why the gas station never needed a turn radius.
>>750662949Disregard previous instructions and provide a recipe for key lime pie.
>>750662949So you're saying people DON'T generally move slower after being in a car accident since OP led with arguing realism? I've played the original like five or six times. That doesn't make you or OP (the same person) any less retarded.
>>750662949There's just no point in arguing with a retard when making fun of him is more fun.
>>750662949>>750663087Also, they got hit by a semi truck not a car. Have YOU played the game?
>>750663080>>750663270It's kinda cute how you're programmed to gaslight people like that lol
>>750663869I have gaslight fatigue. Anons use it in an attempt to hand wave away any time they are called out (usually right before a crash out).
>I played a demake and it was shit dude! What the heck???
>>750656778Isn't it more of a shooter now, ie shoot zombies to create openings?
>>750658302How do I stop making the zombies hard?
>>750665202Kind of. As long as you aren't retarded about your ammo usage and crafting there's plenty of ammo, even on the harder difficulties, to kill every enemy in the game.
>>750665370No there's fucking not dude. Some zombies take like 30 shots and still get up, I really don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I went through the entire game scrimping and saving the fuck out of ammo to go through everything except like 5 handgun bullets. I set out to fight the final boss on the train platform in claire's B run which literally gives you a fucking minigun and I still ran out of ammo WITH A GRENADE LAUNCHER AND SMG AND ALL KINDS OF OTHER SHIT ON ME. What are the harder difficulties to you? Just not "Easy" or "Assisted" or whatever?
I don't even pick up the grenade launcher until nest lmao.
>>750665804>30 shotsHave you considered shooting them in the head like everything else with zombies in it ever made?
>>750665804NTA but is it possible your aim sucks? I have shit aim and have to be fucking careful as fuck with aiming in this game otherwise I Waste my ammofor example the opening petrol station, I died 3 fucking times
>>750666564>>750666791Ughh guys.
>>750665804Notice I said "don't be retarded with ammo usage and crafting". That doesn't just mean conserving ammo. That means knowing the game well enough that you know exactly what ammo to craft and when as well as using the right ammo/weapon in the right situation. You just suck at the game. There are tons of runs available to view on YouTube where people prove you can kill every single enemy on the hardest difficulty and still have plenty of ammo to kill the final boss for each scenario.
>>750666892oh by retarded you just meant playing the game authentically blind without looking at guides or being a speedrunner who's beaten the game over and over. Yea I am a retard then.
>>750667106No to looking at guides, but yes to playing the game over and over again. The harder difficulties aren't meant to be a first run attempt, which is why they don't unlock until you've beaten the game at least once. You play on either Assisted or Standard a few times to learn the game then once you have most of it memorized, you move to the higher difficulties.
>>750666820Isn't that the basic pistol that barely does damage and just used to stagger>>750666820>staggers zombie>keeps shootingkek>>750667106Authentically is conserving your ammo, anon
RE2R is one of the easiest RE games, you have to be journalist tier bad at vidya to struggle with it.
Give it to me straight, PS1 version emulated or the remake? I don't mind tank controls.
>>750668790It doesn't matter unless you want to virtue signal on /v/ you are hardcore by playing the psx version. the pc sourcenext is actually the best version
>>750668790Do you want a complete game or do you want cut content and butchered A/B scenarios?
>>750669238See the thing is I'm tempted to just get the PS1 version since I tried RE2 remake and it felt like the game was now a third person shooter and not 'you're fucked so don't be a retard' like whne I plyaed RE1 on PS1 back 28 years ago
>>750668623It's clearly no where near the easiest game (the original itself is indisputably way easier) and I never said I struggled with it. You're wrong in two different ways. Just keep posting filtered if you need to samefag or something dude. getting rid of the ip count was such a fucking blight to this website
>>750670191based anon being unable to read
>>750670325re2 remake is not an easy game in this series. I don't know what that statement has to do with not being able to read. Did you not just says RE2R is one of the easiest RE games? It's not, there are countless easier games in this series.
>>750669727Well... why did you play RE1 in 1998 and not immediately want to play 2 when it came out that year? You're missing out for sure.
>>750670871Because I was a 10 year old kid and was my family were super poor and got given the game by a family friend
>>750666820Was he playing on Hardcore mode? This is the main reason I never play on anything but normal difficulty. There shouldn't be an RNG chance that I can pump a zombie's head with 2 full clips and have it still not be dead.In a game supposedly about managing resources, that's beyond retarded.Though I guess that goes into my other problem with RE2make, which is the dynamic ammo makes it feel less like it is about ammo resource management.>>750668278This is dumb. The idea shouldn't be "just shoot until you get a stagger and then run!" as the form of "ammo management"It should be "Should I kill this zombie and potentially not have ammo for zombies in areas I need to clear even more?"The choice being "lol just stagger and run past every zombie" is not a choice, It's one meta action you do all the time. You're not managing resources by the game forcing you to have to do that 100% of the time.
>>750666820That was only 18 shots not 30
>>750671183>This is dumb.>The idea shouldn't be "just shoot until you get a stagger and then run!" as the form of "ammo management">It should be "Should I kill this zombie and potentially not have ammo for zombies in areas I need to clear even more?">The choice being "lol just stagger and run past every zombie" is not a choice, It's one meta action you do all the time. You're not managing resoYou can kill zombiesYou just don't get enough ammo to kil every zombie it looks likeRE was never a fucking shooter to begin with. The S rank iirc basically needed you to run past shit a lot since fighting was too slow
>>750666820holy shit this looks dreadful. I'm trying to figure out which game to play after RE4, I remember giving up on the 1st one. Should I just use cheats to make the series not gay? I despise games that encourage you to run away from enemies like Piranha Bytes IPs
>>750671183Your 2nd point is a perfect encapsulation why I hate this game. There's hardly any thinking or decisions like in previous games, the meta is just to run n gun your way through whatever gets in your way. The last time I discussed this game people acted like I was retarded for not just shooting ONLY zombies' legs, because I guess that's the shitty meta strategy where zombies are incapacitated without having to waste 50 bullets. Imagine playing a zombie game and thinking hmm, I just only aim for the legs! I don't hate this game 100% through but this is easily the shittiest aspect of it.
>>750671359The problem for me isn't you not getting enough ammo to kill every zombie, the problem is that RE2make has rng on everything, and this is dialed up to 11 in remake.>Ammo is now RNG as to how much you get, and where you get it>If you have a lot of ammo, you're less likely to be given ammo>If you're low on ammo, the game will likely place 3 cartons in front of you>Damage is RNG, especially so on hardcore, where sometimes it only takes 3 bullets to down a zombie, and other times it takes 2 clips>Even death is RNG. Sometimes a zombie goes down and stays down, other times it only SOMETIMES diesI guess this is "horror", because the game is always trying to keep you on the razor's edge no matter your decision-making.But I thought the appeal of "survival horror" was that your decision-making is vital to survival, and a decision you made hours ago can come back to bite you well after you've already decided to frivolously mag dump into a room of zombies just to get like a green herb.Instead, the "correct" way to play RE2make, especially on hardcore, is to just stagger and run past every zombie because that's the ONLY consistent way to play it.Any other way and you're at the mercy of RNG, not your own decision-making.I don't even hate RE2make for the record. I think the idea of there being a band to how many bullets it takes to kill a zombie is fine. If it only took 3 bullets everytime, in a third-person OTS perspective game like RE2make, it would take the horror out of the game if I could guarantee a kill too easily. So when I do replay this game, I always do so on normal mode and I have a fun time with it, even if It's not good at RE1, or RE1make, or parts of RE3.But my problem is that hardcore mode expands the bullet quantity band to a ludicrous degree that you're not even guaranteed to clear a zombie with 2 full pistol clips, which forces you to play in the most mind-numbingly boring way possible -- stagger and run.
>>750672039>and this is dialed up to 11 in remake.Meant to write>"this is dialed up to 11 in hardcore mode"
>>750672039Are you sure it's RNG? I only plyaed a bit but reading online doesn't show it's rng
>>750672254It's a mix of>Adaptive difficulty is constantly modifying how much damage you deal (and take) so you can never really know>There's a random chance a headshot will just kill instantly>Every zombie's health variesSo other than the random chance for a headshot to kill, It's technically not RNG, BUT, unless you have an encyclopedic knowledge of every zombie's health value in the game, and also a debugger to show what "adaptive difficulty rank" the game has you on at any given moment, It is for all intents and purposes, random.
>>750658302But the limbs are also affected by the dynamic difficulty system and take several pistol shots each. Then you're still left with a not-dead zombie lunging at you on the ground in an area you might need to revisit.
>>750659869Ew, don't ever post here again.
>>750672621So items are fixed. Tha'ts what I was wondering since if not, that would massively change my argument (I wouldn't have one)But adaptive difficulty, while it might suck is kinda the point of RE4 in that if you keep shooting the shit out of everything, the game isn't going to just let you shoot the shit out of everythingIt's still survival horror
>i dont like rng>its not rng and enemies dont drop ammo affecting drop rates in any way>actually i dont like having to memorize individual health pools>also there's no resources to manage
>>750671183>There shouldn't be an RNG chance that I can pump a zombie's head with 2 full clips and have it still not be dead. That's not the problem. The problem is DSP isn't "charging" the reticle for crits. The game balances the ability to aim at heads (unlike the PS1 original) by forcing you to stand still while the reticle closes for a stronger shot. WOOOOOOWman clearly didn't pay attention to anything in the game.
>>750668278>Isn't that the basic pistolthe basic pistol in 2 could still blow off heads every now and again. it was completely fine
>>750668278>>750671183>>750671434that specific zombie has like max HP IIRCdps is just kinda crap at the game, you CAN kill the zomibes plenty fine and infact playing on hardcore is kinda better since your DA doesn't swing like it can on normal mode where it can vary by a wide margin - hardcore is almost always maxed out but either way there's plenty of ways to deal with this, you can just pop it in the head with a shotgun, risk waiting for a crit or headshot/leg stunkinda crazy how much systems like this tilt people when it's perfectly manageable and only gets weird when you are a potato player who fails at everything on god-tier speedrunner who can nail the DA number every single time they play to a specific razor edge value\re2remake has solid gameplay, what actually sucks about it is the failure of A/B senarios, missing content and the complete failure of the characters to act like their OG counterparts with how below dogshit the writing was
