Confirmed leaks for Battlefront 3 compilation thread:

>New EA management is very weary of a repeat of the BF2 debacle, specifically the "pink vader" incident. As such, there is a heavy emphasis on allowing customization. Game will be monetized similarly to Fortnite with skins being sold but no pay walled characters or abilities.

>Central gimmick is being able to mix and match factions against each other. Multiple unique factions are to be introduced and can be freely pitted against each other, with disregard for canon. I.e., you can have Empire vs. CIS or Rebels vs. Resistance. Factions are: High Republic, Nihil, Clone Army, CIS, Rebels, Empire, Resistance, First Order, Mandalorians, and Shadow Collective. Chiss, Night Sister, and factions representing the good and bad side of Episode 10 are planned for a free DLC rollout.

>No single player campaign Respawn wants to focus on getting the live service multi-player aspects right.

>significantly larger maps capable of accommodating 4-way battles, but no surface to space features are expected. Focus is on infantry.

>128 player cap aimed for

>Planets will feature unique environmental hazards. For example, Wampa NPCs wandering on Hoth.

>force wielders will be a standard unit for the first time in the series. Factions like the High Republic will have Jedi as regular selectable classes, functioning as a much less powerful version of jeri heroes.

I'm too schizo if I think that focus on Battlefront II made EA left behind Battlefield V during the live service of both games? I'm still mad that we didn't get an eastern front expansion for Battlefield V.

They should look at the Kyber mod for BF2. Literally the best star wars game ever.

Sub-human slop for non-people

what is the pink vader incident?

The mouse needs to fuck off with this nonsense. Nobody is ever going to accept the sequels. People finally accepted the prequels because they offered something of value in terms of worldbuilding even if the script and acting sucked shit. Sequels' "worldbuilding" is just rehashing OT stuff but worse.

>no surface to space
I think this is fine desu. Everyone says they want this but no one actually played the space modes in BF2. If they added surface to space it would be 100 people on the ground and five people in ships

The goal of going to space is to board the big ships, having more interesting interactions in ground and ship combat objectives leading into that
Everyone has been trying to chase the high of 2142 titans for decades
>>
>>750654815
>the goal of ship gameplay is to get out of the ship
Why bother spending money on making the ship then. We're all here for infantry gameplay

So...
>Maximum monetization with battle passes and MTXs on top of full retail price
>Lore apathy, just smacking random toys together
>No campaign to bring casuals in, even something on the level of RotE from the real Battlefront 2
>Bigger maps for more time spent running from place to place
>Higher "player" count to be invariably filled with bots for easy kill farming
>"'Member wampas?! 'Member banthas?! 'Member the trash monster?! I clapped when I saw it!!!"
>Finally, you can play as incompetent weak Jedi on par with Stormtroopers, hooray

>leaks from a peoject that only got the greenlight a few weeks ago

Nice try faggot, the game isn't even in development yet
>>

Battlefront has always been lore apathetic
>>
>>750655069
The sad part is how realistic it sounds. Unfortunately, "we're going to improve upon what worked well in the previous entry" doesn't exist anymore.
>>
>>750654952
Because ship gameplay provides an irreplacable dynamic quality to the approach and boarding, and is fun in its own right for the people flying in addition to giving tension to people riding in drop ships

Confirmed leaks:
>Only faggot 40+year old manchildren from reddit care about Star Wars in 2026
>>
>no campaign
battlefront 2's campaign was mechanically an afterthought and narratively a boring rugpull that felt more interested in fanservice and I think most people felt that way so none-too-surprising
>>
>>750655458
Faggot 40+year old manchild board

When BF2 dropped and was getting ripped to shreds for multiple reasons, one of the things people were criticizing was the lack of cosmetic options. And during a Reddit Q&A with the devs, one of the team members said "well, we kept the options for customization low so we could pay due respect to the lore. No one wants to be trying to immerse themselves in an iconic Star Wars battle and then see a pink Darth Vader run past them." This became a roundly down voted and mocked meme, and someone created a pink vader mod on Nexus within hours that became the top mod on the site that week.
>>
>>750654987
>just smacking random toys together

Ok, but thats what I want from Battlefront.
>>
>>750654563
Not what you think. It was mostly a bullshit excuse to defend the inclusion of micro transactions tied to loot crates and crystals. Loot crates were the only way to get new abilities and earning them naturally without spending crystals was slow, tedious, and insulting. And even then you could only unlock heroes buy buying more crystals after you likely blew the initially generous "free" crystals you earned through gameplay on someone like Luke or Vader.

When asked why they just couldn't get by on selling skins they said they didn't want to break the lore by say having Vader in an all white armor, or even pink armor.

There's more, but in short EA fucked up and eventually removed crystals and loot crates entirely and went with a more traditional skill advancement system and outright let you play everything.
>>
After a year or two BF2 was pretty fun. I doubt EA is going to repeat the same mistakes... at the start at least.
>>
>>750654614
I must have spent dozens of hours in starfighter assault, the only thing I hated about that mode is that the card system was such that you could get unlucky with card drops while other got OP cards.
>>
>>750655482
that's usually the case with these things, especially EA's live service games
battlefield in particular has had mostly shit campaigns that are just there as a checkbox and for marketing points
