1. You can use Windows without supporting them by pirating the thing and debloat it

2. Any main Linux distros are fine, For me the problem is the DE rather than the distro itself. I do CachyOS because it was made catering to gamers. Just use KDE, Gnome is fine if you want clean desktop, but i hate how tablet it feels. Plus on KDE you can customize it however you want to.

They're all shit honestly. There are some Linux forks built with gaming in mind, but game compatibility is still an issue (although great strides have been made in the last ~5 years). Maybe now that we're fully in the AI age we'll have a better OS made with even better x86 compatibility.
