It's time to start loading up on rice, potatoes, beans, canned food, gas generators, water purifiers, weapons, and ammo if you're wanting to handle the oncoming mega depression, I imagine

i don't think computer parts are worth concerning yourself about

Yeah if you live in europe. If you live in the US its time for canned goods and ammo, those guys are about to go full mad max.
>>

they refused to say gamers are over and stop making gaming parts
>>
The end of sillicon valley and a following recession isn't surely going to restore gaming to its former glory down the line, especially not with various "Kids Acts" being legislated around the US.

If US actually ends up going full socialist, and Sillicon Valley lost its investor attraction, then gaming hardware will never be on the same upward trajectory again.

That's thanks to police officers being mildly competent enough to curtail a massive depression, not because there haven't been instances of it happening through history like post Soviet states having rampant pillaging and looting after the fall of the wall and the massive depression that ensued afterwards.

Hardly a pop. If and when the bubble actually pops, it'll be much faster and catastrophic. This is just a signal from the markets. Unfortunately, prices won't get lower. RAM manufacturers runs deal between each other since many years already, if they want to keep prices high, they simply will. Who would stop them? Nobody, that's who. Same for Nvidia and their GPU insane prices. What you gonna do, buy Radeon like reasonable person, ignoring rigged "tests" and games that intentionally runs worse on theoretically more powerful gear? It won't change a thing. AI was just an excuse.

"Higher ups" want us to switch to could computing and they will not stop in trying. Never.

Cost of entry, insane capex needed to stay competitive, and honestly, that market is kind of rigged by three companies. It's cartel, to be blunt.
China, for all its economic might, was able to enter that market a few years ago, only because they got a bunch of old patents from a third company that went kaput. They wouldn't even be able to try without it.

Literally no such thing. 'Democracy' in big 26 exclusively means between two manchurian candidates in tandem like a swinging pendulum. >A $1,000 investment in Coca-Cola (KO) 10 years ago would be worth approximately $2,403 to $2,469 today (assuming you reinvested all dividends), more than doubling your money.

Key Performance Details
Total Return: Roughly +140% to +147% over the decade (including dividends).
Average Annual Return: About 9.35% per year.
Comparison (S&P 500): Over the same 10-year period, a $1,000 investment in the broader S&P 500 would have grown to about $3,397 (+239%), meaning Coca-Cola performed well as a defensive stock, though it trailed the overall market.

That’s not really how it works. Your employer pays about 80% of your private plan each month and you pay the remaining 20% to pay less on future doctor/hospital visits. The public options are for extremely poor and old people and are very low in quality, limiting your care options and giving you long wait times that could end up killing you in the worst of instances. You also are made to pay for other people’s care plans depending on where you fall on the income spectrum, in addition to massive fraud going on there. A near fully private system would be ideal, where only retired people would have access to a public options, which is basically what other countries do but Dems voted against it in favor of the status quo and this year their party officially fell to the socialists.

Insurance middlemen drive the costs up (because insurance companies can always pay, so why not charge them 2000%? Plus there's all the additional paperwork), which makes it impossible to afford healthcare out of pocket as a normal sane person who saves a portion of their income for emergencies. Corporations love that because it means corporate sponsored insurance is required to live, which means you *must* work for and be owned by a corporation or die. It's all a coordinated scam.

>>750643282
>because insurance companies can always pay, so why not charge them 2000%?
Not at all how it works, in fact it’s the opposite, insurance companies have actual leverage in negotiations. The hospital knows if you come in with a broken arm, you aren’t gonna “take your business elsewhere” if they overcharge you to set it. But if they decide to kike around and find out with Cigna or CareFirst or whoever, they risk losing hundreds of millions from being removed from the provider network.

In fact one of the biggest arguments in favor of single-payer (government) healthcare is the efficacy in price negotiations of having a single insurer who represents 300 billion people saying “actually no, we won’t be paying that much for that drug”.

There are moral hazard issues with insurance but they’re mostly around claim denials.

>Considering how many people in the US go into debt for medical expenses, yes, you actually have that risk.
Since you’re European, I’ll explain to you how it actually works in America.

In America, you pay for health insurance. Health insurance is a monthly expense (typically provided through your employer but not always). In exchange for your monthly fee, you get a series of structured charges for various medical services. Prescriptions for this amount, primary care visits for that amount, etc., There will also typically be some shared rate on extreme expenses; i.e. if you are hospitalized, maybe you are on the hook for the first $500, then after that you only owe $0.05 of every $1 the hospital charges. Or however, each plan is different and typically customizable to your preferences and budget.

You then get a network of providers that the insurance company has negotiated with. Go to any one of them, and you can just hand over your insurance card, they’ll charge you the copay/coinsurance (your small share) and send the bill directly to the insurance company.

Here’s how medical bankruptcies happen in the US.
1) you didn’t get health insurance. It isn’t mandatory (well, it wasn’t, now there’s a tax penalty), you played a stupid game and won a stupid prize
2) you went out of network, seeking medical care from providers your insurance did not agree to cover. This means you spent the WHOLE sum up front and then waited around for your insurance company to reimburse you, and/or they didn’t cover the care you decided to seek. Again, you played a stupid game and won a stupid prize.
>>
>>750644465
One big ponzi scheme.
Investors are lied to that this will change the world and they can run their entire companies off of computers instead of paying workers so they invest a ton of money.
That money goes toward buying hardware to build data centers.
The hardware companies then invest in AI companies because its making them a lot of money.
Then it goes in a loop and everybody starts to overvalue the companies way too much.
Eventually it all collapses when one of the parties pulls out because they realize it's not actually making them profit and they're just creating fake hype value.
>>
>>750640674
Another day.
This is all basically just because Google announced they weren't making enough off AI while committing to dumping more money into AI. They got slammed and now the market is following.
Investors are growing tired of promises, they want to see a return. But the potential of AI and what it's already doing is undeniable, so they'll all keep staying the course.

probably the scenario is more like the dotcom bubble.

the dotcom bubble 'popped' because people were throwing a shit ton of money into a thing that was still developing, a lot of that money got swallowed up as, naturally, different developing companies ended up not working out, or not developing fast enough to pay back loans.

obviously, now, everything is bought online. so people weren't "wrong", they just put too much money in too fast.

its the same with ai.

a lot of money is being put into ai, and it still isn't making enough money to pay back the loans that are being shilled out.

its not a question of will AI 'stop', its a question of, are people putting in too much money too fast -- and there's a really strong argument to be said that the answer is yes, given that companies like anthropic now basically say in their earnings "we don't make money, and we don't really give a shit we'll just get more loans".

part of the drop is because democrats want to push a policy that refuses to bail out ai companies.

Of course you do, it's taken out in taxes you mongoloid. And despite Eurozone countries charging double the US median income tax rate, you've STILL managed to bankrupt every one of your fucking national healthcare providers and they're all debt black holes. UK, France, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, hell even Germany isn't looking too hot these days in the medical field despite generally being a very budget-conscious nation.

>A third of your population is in medical debt by the way.
A fifth of the German population is in medical debt AND Germany's National Health Service is 15 billion Euros in the red on its budget, and that's the most spendthrift country in the Eurozone. France's public debt is 3 trillion euros with an annual hospital budget deficit of 3 billion euros, and despite having the lowest measured level of catastrophic health spending in Europe, STILL has 2% of its population in medical debt.

Funny story, I took up playing Pokemon Go not so long ago, which has given me odd occasion to just stroll around shopping centers. I'm genuinely surprised to see how places I remember barely existing have now popped up into these quaint little town centers full of upscale shops. I was chasing pokestops and went to an area that used to just be a movie theater, now it has an outdoor mall with like 15 restaurants and a shitload of little stores, a common area with live music, and 3 apartment complexes winging the damn thing.

I feel like what happened, at least around here, was the indoor shopping mall died. Shopping malls are collapsing, and when I was a kid that was where people went to shop, so it gives the impression that the internet killed retail. But it feels like actual retail stores are doing okay. I don't really know why that should be, but I think it actually is.

Likely not a pop but investors are starting to ask questions.
It's part of why Anthropic and OpenAI keep delaying their IPOs, they're desperately trying to wait until they can see profitability starting to be reasonable for themselves.
The recent crash was because Google showed that searches with AI summaries were costing them more than they were gaining because people weren't clicking through to websites which benefits Google through ads. Basically, AI was costing a lot of compute and they weren't gaining ad money to subsidize it.

The tech market is basically what's holding up the economy right now. A crash would lead to a recession, a big boy one like 2007/8 not the mild one we've been in since 2020.
Fortunately not all of these AI companies are public yet, worst case is they do go public, get a shitton of banker and investor money, and then it's above but way worse.

And this is all because these fuckass companies were billing AI as a miracle cure to solve every problem under the sun when in most non-tech cases it's a sidegrade at best, annoyance at worst. Good for you fetish porn genners and AI vibecoders, shit for my actual accounting job.

The stock market can be good and people can still be in a bad spot. If the stock market is bad, people are going to be in an even worse spot.
The stock market impacts the banks. If the banks have a bad time, we all have a bad time. Businesses and normal people can't get loans, which means layoffs or foreclosures. Everything is interconnected, which is why towns halfway around the world got fucked when American banks were playing with mortgages.
