EA Battlefront 2 was pretty good after they removed all the p2w mechanics. My only real complaint with it is too many sequels maps. I wish we got more clone wars stuff like Geonosis.

It DID have effect on matches, it is literally a continous battle.
The ground battle is conquest, when you take the points you get weapons to blast the shields on the mega ship, then you board the mega ship and destory the core and it blows up...game won.
You can either conquest complete the match or destroy the ship but to steamroll you do both.
it was fucking top tier.
That way too if you are a pilot player or want to just FPS you can do either.
They could easily do this. Call it something like grand conquest and have it so its like 2 servers you swap from, ground battle or fly to space.

In practicality its a combination of conquest and carrier assault game modes from battlefield but fuck it was great.
