Yeah. Although, honestly, I used to trawl for indie music and even some pop hits and I haven't done that in a few years. I should do that more in 2027.

Anyways, right now I'm listening to "Legion Was Here"'s soundtrack.

Most of the music I listen to is non-vidya.
Biggest part is probably metal but I feel like there's a pretty big collection of varied genres like folk, techno, noise or just plain pop.

I like listening to tracker music.
The appeal is very similar to vidya music... little to no lyrics and artificial sound.
And the bonus, file sizes are very small.
This one I heard from a game first but they are usually designed to stand on their own.

I stopped seeking out new music ages ago. I like podcasts where people talk abut American politics instead.

I used to really like Eurobeat, but I over-listened to it and got a bit tired of it. I used to like Heavy Metal, but the Metal bands I like are all boomer shit now, and I never really enjoyed the newer "metalcore" bands.

Yes, anime OPs/EDs and OST.
But I generally very rarely listen to any music. I just struggle to find the opportunity for it.
I'm not enough of a music lover to just listen to music without doing something else in the meantime.
When I play a competitive multiplayer game, I want to focus on it and music is distracting for me.
When I play non-multiplayer games, I want to listen to the game, not music.
The only situation where I could see myself listening to music is if I'm doing some repetitive grind in a video game but if the grind is sufficiently brainless (and usually it is), I'd rather watch some youtube in the meantime or listen to some podcast or audiobook.

I think most normalfags hate country but if you hate rap you hate black people and that's racist. It's like how a lot of my normalfag friends keep telling me that I can't hate dreadlocks because it's racist to hate dreadlocks and that it's an alt right dogwhistle to hate it. I don't understand the raging boner for Metallica. They're babby's first Metal band, but some YT commenters (admittedly not the smartest people to get opinions from) make it seem like other bands don't exist. Granted, it isn't hardcore factionalism like old YT as in OP's >>750629887 image, but it seems Metallica-only fans are common.
Also I don't get the hate for Black album, the songs are obviously sellout-tier compared to the first two albums, but it's so bouncy and fun to listen to casually.

An alt rock band that was kinda big in the 90s

That's how it typically goes irl. Also like Fu Manchu, Sleep, Hot Water Music, plus random obscure bands that I find on Youtube or old stuff like The Mamas and the Papas, America, Whitesnake, Scorpions, and Mort Garson if I'm in the mood, or Primus if I want a silly song. I drive a lot so I listen to video game OSTs too, mostly PS1 through GC/PS2 era (Custom Robo, SA2, MMX games, Final Fantasy, and especially F-Zero GX and X)

It will probably take a major life event + weed or alcohol to do the same to you. Ever since then a lot of music sounds way better even when I'm sober and I'm often whistling tunes. Life has become a lot better since then but the sad and angry rock songs still take me back (in a good way)
