My Xbox controller's left stick drifted to shit after only 6 months. Looking for a cheaper alternative for PC that isn't complete garbage. Are 8BitDo any good? Prefer Xbox layout over DualSense.
>>
Get the Vader 5S.
>>
>>750629034
you should getting a gamesir g7 pro
>>
Wait for black friday and buy two chinkmaxx controllers of any of the 3 shilled brands at 50% off.
>why two
Chink shit sometimes breaks
>what the difference between saars, 8dohs and flygdis

GuliKit ES Pro or Max
>>
>>750629147

Not dropping 100€ on some Chinese pad.
>>
>>750629034
Unironically gameSaar
>>
>>750629034
Honestly, just buy tmr sticks and ask a repair shop to solder them in. Probably will be less than a new chinkpad.
>>
>>750629268
gamesir g7 about half the price but wired

Gamesir but take out the sticks on your Xbox controller and put em in the gamesir.

Also make sure you calibrate.
>>
>recommending chink stuff
>>
i got a gamesir nova 2 lite coming in today hope it's nice
>>
>>750629034
Just buy a higher quality replacement sticks and pop them in.

I've got GuliKit Anti-Drift sticks and i've put thousands of hours on them over like 4-5 years now and no drift, but that was years ago so there might be something better out there these days.
>>
8bitdo 3C+ is launching tomorrow, TMR sticks, 2.4ghz/bluetooth for 40$

1) wash your hands
2) dust your room
3) Just get a refund as every member of the EU gets 2 years warranty on everything.

These except do not get the ES MAX over the ES Pro. The MAX is fucking shit with a horrible floaty Dpad that rocks around and terrible QC issues.
Avoid 8shitdo and Game SAAAAAAR and just upgrade your xbox controller with high quality parts or go Gulikit ES Pro.
>>
>>750629034
I picked up an 8bitdo ultimate a couple years ago. Aside from it being slightly less comfortable than the xbawks controllers, it works great, and the battery life is insane. No defects, which was a BIG problem I was having with official controllers.
However, other anons may be right about other 3rd party controllers being better since this is the first 3rd party controller I've bought since madcatz in 2006. All I can really say is that it's much better than official controllers across the board. Official MS, Sony and Nintendo controllers are outright garbage these days.
>>
>>750629034
I have an x05pro
it's pretty good
>>
>cheaper
Xbox are already pretty cheap. Rather than buying a new one, look over to iFixit and there are guides for installing a new thumbstick. As far as hardware , there are plenty of replacements including TMR ones that will not drift; keep in mind that just being TMR doesn't necessarily mean that its great or accurate, its just that it doesn't have the one particular issue of drift caused by potentiometer wear, but even a quality TMR set of sticks ought not to be too expensive or hard to replace; there are even some that do not require soldering.

Aside from replacing the stick if you otherwise like the Xbox Series X/S controlller, you could also pick up either an 8bitdo Ultimate 3 or perhaps one of the gamesaar people talk about, but I can't speak to its quality. I personally am not a fan of most 3rd party as they require proprietary often windows only utilities. Out of curiosity, have you tried a DualSense? Compared to older DualShock, its probably one of the most comfortable to use pads with the symmetrical layout in that even those who usually prefer asymmetric find it comfortable ; both DualSense (Edge) and Steam Controller seem to have this feature.

Lost the receipt, bought it at the supermarket.
>>
>>750630023
>no removable battery
Yeah that is a bit shit, but the batteries aren't soldered in so opening it up and swapping it out isn't the biggest deal.

It's really a question of how shit the batteries are, if it's a decent battery it should last the life of the gamepad, easily 5-10 years, but if it's real cheap chink shit having to swap it out after it stops holding charge after or a year or so would be a pain.
>>
>>750629034
Everyone looks to have covered stick replacement pretty thoroughly, but another options is you can also just replace the potentiometers without needing to solder anything.

It's less than $10 for four of them (each stick uses two, but it's usually just one that is worn so a four pack will last you a long time), they just pop in/out after you pull apart the controller.

It's not going to permanently fix the problem of stick drift though it's just going replace the part that's worn out resulting in the stick drift.
>>
>>750630345
I recommended the Max because I thought it was just better than the Pro in every way. Is it really that bad? I have a Pro and was thinking about getting the Max.
>>
>>750631393
The Dpad isnt the same as the ES Pro - its a downgrade with QC issues. The back buttons are extremely cheap and feel terrible. You are paying 20USD for the dongle, adjustable triggers and some new analog tech at the cost of the Dpad and face buttons aswell. Its not worth it at all.
>>
>>750631110
>bought it at the supermarket.
Probably was some sorted out stock with known faults then lmao.
>>
>8BitDo any good?
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT and I say this as a guy who used to buy 8bitdo. They are extremely shit, the buttons+bumpers+triggers feel cheap and flimsy, the dpads are pretty damn bad and the sticks are just okay. If you don't mind agreeing to two seperate walls of text about how Tencent and Glorious China then needing to install some chink "service" on your computer then Vader gamepads are pretty good for the price.
>>
>>750631512
Thanks for the warning. I like the ES Pro, so it's a shame that GuliKit fucked up with the Max.
>>
>>750631681
8BitDo button sets are so bad. I've also had day 1 connection problems on low battery with my Ultimate 2 Wireless that makes it useless at anything under 30%.
>>
>>750629268
They're all Chinese you absolute fucking retard.
>>
>>750629547

don't need it, register the device using the serial number and it will tell you whether it is in warranty or not
>>
>>750629034
There's only 3 good chinese controllers and its not 8shitdo
>>
>>750632367
I think he just means the actual sticks. You can take the analog sticks off the post of the original Xbox controller and add them to the GameSir. I just ordered some extra ones and added those since the GameSir is easy as fuck to do it in and you don't have to bother opening Microshits controller.
>>
>>750632674
Huh. I never thought of doing that. I guess that makes me the retard now.
>>
>had 360 controller for 10 years

did microsoft just forget the technology?

i got my 8bitdo ultimate2c yesterday and its way better than the dualsense i was using, even if its a cheaper and lighter controller its just that better. for some reason my dualsense vibration sucks, i tried everything even disabling the mic but the rumble is just shit and most games will have to rely on xbox controller translation.
