The 5v5 mode was unironically good but it was added too late, the base 3v3 mode really sucked and I have no idea how the developers never realised how they made a game that kept swinging between boring and empty and extremely sweaty and frustrating.

Don't bother actually talking about the game. This is a thread to just repeat the same phrases over and over.

Hi Geoff

Agreed. 5v5 was crazy, I have footage from that mode where every second looks like some shit out of a trailer. Just constant shit going on, abilities and going off everywhere. They were way too confident in the 3v3 and it killed the entire game. The game could easily have evolved into something really fun. Also the combat was genuinely good, though I'm an Apex fan and this was from some of the same developers.

What does the blast haver meme originate from anyway?

They were told by their echo chamber that it couldn't fail. Yes, leftists are insane

>What does the blast haver meme originate from anyway

journalists making shit up about "having a blast", and then every journalist copying the same sentence, sort of like "return to form" or "and it's a good thing"
>>

It was probably one of those games where the engoodening could have made it a star in the genre but the deal with the devil the developers made for funding and not being able to find their footing nuked their success chance. God damn morons thought they could do the shadow drop with zero input from a community on how to improve the game through betas and playtests because they had their friends and family talk them up and not even a "free" slot for exposure infront of the entire industry could have saved their asses from pushing out the worst first impressions possible.

There was some game, don't remember which, where people noticed that a lot of user reviews had the exact same phrases repeated between them, namely that the game was a return to form for the series and that they were having a blast.
>>

5v5 was really fun. I'm still of the opinion had they dropped the game the same day it was revealed at the TGA it could have had a chance to survive.

Return to form was in most reviews of Dragon Age Veilguard, and having a blast was in the new Wolverine game. Pretty much undeniable proof that reviewers are paid by publishers to repeat the same talking points.

What sucks is that the tutorial map just about felt like the proper scale for things. If THAT was the standard map size, then it'd honestly have a shot.

It's a shame too, because it definitely felt like an idea was there. Trying to actually make the assault on the enemy base feel like a siege and have a bit of a "gear up to attack the castle" thing was a decent idea. It's just that it was so half-baked. I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is the kind of shit that I think you could easily make as a custom game for something like Warcraft 3 and it'd be genuine ludo.
