If all they had done was add actual new sections/quests to OoT, than that alone would have gotten a ton of people to buy a Switch 2 just to play and experience that in its best possible form. Because every fucking diehard fans would just have to play a version of the game where you can explore Hyrule Castle's interior, unfreeze Zora's domain, play through a Light Temple, use a pictobox etc. As it is, only people who already have a Switch 2 and happened to have never played it before now have any reason to care, and that is going to bite.

The big reason the Switch 2 sold like crack-laced heroine up to now is because the Switch 1 set software expectations for most people and they assumed the Switch 2 would be in a similar shape by now (keep in mind that most people really don't research or discuss Nintendo devtime/devteam assignment particulars like we do here). It's becoming clear after almost a year and a half since launch and almost 2 since the system was revealed that those expectations aren't panning out yet.Pokémon WiWa is going to shove a firecracker back up the Switch 2's ass next year, but it'll be interesting to see how its legs hold up given other Switch 2 games so far have almost universally shown much worse legs than Switch 1 games.
