i have an even bigger collection than his, it's on my Steam
>>
Emulation works fine for me.
>>
>>750619417
how many of those has he finished I am betting not many and is just collecting.
>>
every now and then i think it would be cool to get a retro console and play on a crt, but most retro games suck ass and are a complete waste of your time without savestates.
>>
>>750619417
No because I'm not too much of a pussy to emulate.
>>
>>750619417
you're just a soulless materialist.
>>
>>750619651
it's not like he was gonna play them all again it's better to keep a few favorite then fuck collect a shit ton just for collecting sake.
>>
Collections are inherently gay. Stack up treasures for the eternal Kingdom of Heaven, not bing bing wahoos, where moths, vermin and oxidation to contact pins destroy.
>>
>>750619417
>life would be awesome if I just had a big game collection
chances of that being true 0.00000001%
>>

>>
>physical video game thread
>Its 90% PCfags circle jerking themselves

Its like a bunch of eunuchs discussing penises. Its bizarre
>>
>>750619417
I have the entire complete collection of all games in all regions for every console up to 7th gen.
>but it's not wasting a bunch of space in your house
Yes, that's actually the best part.
>>
>>750619417
i would never play 90% of that shit
>>
>>750620118
explains you're here then
>>
>>750619417
I only buy games I actually want to play. You should never buy something just to add to a collection.
>>
>>750619417
My buddy who doesn't even fucking play retro games started a retro collection, its so fucking stupid
>>
>>750620065
communism is materialism too retard.
>>
>>750619417
Why would I want that? I have all those games on one hdd.
>>
>College 2008

>"Cool man I didnt know you read Japanese"
>"I dont"
>>
>>750619417
No. Even before accounting the red and white wave of shovelware, the titles I can read are mostly garbage.
>>
>>750619417
Id rather be one of those pseudo homeless world traveler guys living out of a backpack than be this guy
>>
>>750619417

i never was into collecting anything
>>
>>750619417
games from the NES/SNES era are too similar to each other to justify big collections like this
once you've played the top 25 there's nothing left except the thrill of accumulating which is pointless and dumb
>>
yes i am so envious of a fat larper who doesnt play even 5% of what he owns
>>
You already did this seething thread on /vr/ you fatass.
>>
>>750619417
>rich
This guy is rich. The one in your pic tries to fill the void in his life by collecting games he'll never play (which I 100% jelly)
>>
>>750619417
>collecting modern slop after publishers cut all production value going toward physical releases and just started using mass-produced DVD jackets
Every other industry has had to deal with the fact that they need to provide a value add for premium editions to set themselves apart from their cheapo toilet paper editions, only videogames have been able to sink into the comfortable delusion of providing less and less while charging premium prices due to copyright coddling modern software publishers.
>>
if I were rich I wouldnt start collecting games either.
its not a good hobby whatsoever. "my favorite activity is sitting on ebay". amazing.

>>750619417
But I do though. And it fits in a drawer
>>
Hell no. Collections of anything are just clutter.
>>
>>750619417
No, not really.
And you should learn to do the same.
>>
>>750620118
>talkign about videogame collections and what games we've played
>This is like eunuchs discussing penises!
What's bizarre is why your brain even went there. Do you have something to say, anon? Did your mom spike you with hormones or something?
>>
>>750619417
Kinda. I'd love to have a collection of big box PC and maybe Amiga games with all the stuff like 100+ page manuals, but to be honest in both cases emulation/compatibility layers are better than the real thing if you just want to play the games. I'd have to be rich to the point where I never have to think about "but what about that other thing I also want to buy".
>>
>>750619417
I’d rather collect games I want to play
>>
I dont want stuff on my shelf that I dont like. I have like 100 shelf ornaments but its all stuff I really like. I only have 15 Gamecube games, but its all bangers. 30 PS2 ganes, straight kino all the way down.

I dont understand the shelf of shovelware thing.
>>
>game "collector"
>games are set up for display with posters, paraphernalia, and mood lighting
>8- and 16-bit collection in homogenized aftermarket cases
>mic taped in-between his moobs so you know this is just for an internet video
Trained seal in a walrus' body.
>>
>>750619417
Unless he has more shelves I have way more than this guy. No cartridge systems before DS, but there's no point in collecting old carts unless you're willing to solder new batteries into all of them. Or you don't actually play your games.
>>
>>750619417
My digital collection is bigger so why do I care? Physical media is a hassle, this has been my opinion for the last 30 years.
>>
>>750619417
I'm mostly bothered by of all the people who have only gotten into video games over the past twenty years. None of this shit was hard to get until suddenly "oh I love retro gaming!!" now you can't get anything without shelling out more than it cost when it came out, whether it's rare or not.

Did you know that Earthbound is not a rare game? That even CIB Earthbound is not fucking rare? The prices sure don't represent that.
>>
>>750630730
When I was a kid I went to a garage sale down the street and bought an NES, controllers and like 20 games for 10 USD. That's how worthless these things were back then, people would really just toss out old systems they were worth so little, nobody was collecting anything.
If it wasn't for people thinking they could make money on CRTs or old games they would've just trashed them. If everyone thinks they're super valuable they'll protect them and keep them in pristine condition.
>>
>>750619417
>you get a cool games collection like his
>you get lots of free disposable income to spend on games and vidya or nerd adjacent toys and gadgets
BUT
>you also physically turn into him, you become a morbidly obese balding dude with negative test levels
>you also have to be in an open relationship and have to prep the bull everytime your SO invites a male friend into the house
>>
>>750631810
that sounds wonderful goyim
>>
>>750619417
>Does it ever bother you you will never have a collection like this guy?
Nah, I already set a limit for my gaming collection, no more than 1 thousand games. I really don't need a gigantic collection, I only need bangers and games that I want to play.
>>
>>750619417
No. I'm not interested in that many games.
>>
>>750619417
>>750632793
Also, do you watch "Chase after the right price"? (This fat guy was in one of his recent videos) He is one of the main reasons for why games are so expensive nowadays and why you can't have cool collections like this anymore.
>>
>>750619417
I have one. I hate it. Might sell it to a friend later when I get ready to move.
>>
>>750630730
I mean how do you define rare? These are all mass produced products made for general retail sale and consumption, no video game is rare unless it was intentionally manufactured in limited supply. Demand is what sets prices, and Mother is a prestige series that many people want to own a piece of.

Not that I disagree with you, but let's not kid ourselves. A not insignificant amount of these obese lards with too much money have their own crotch spawn, in addition to the mountains of plastic that they hoard.

Very wholesome webm, though.

Damn, Hasan is THAT old?

I'd rather be average BMI and own nothing than be this fat fuck, so no.

Once you've been a home owner for long enough all the shit you've acquired starts becoming more of a burden than a boon.

I'm rich but life still sucks ass. Maybe it's because of where I live, but when you get rich here (the UK), everyone either wants a piece of your money, or they want to tell you what you can and cannot do with it.

You think I can just go to a bank, withdraw £20,000 and then blow it on stupid shit? Of course not. Way too many fucking laws in place to stop me doing that, I'll have to go into the bank, meet people, talk about what I want to do with my money, give them evidence and maybe after they have a long ass discussion about it, they'll give me my money. If they feel like it.
