tranny coomer pedo shitall the bottom of the barrel gutter waste ends up on itch.iosame as Pedro's Burritos can't be Walmart, Itch can't be Steam
>>750619360>90% of catalog is furry bara VNs
Temu GOG
>>750619408>requiring DRM to run your gameWhy do you hate players? Steam's gets cracked with 2 clicks. It's stupid to insist on it
>>750625675>>90% of catalog is furry bara VNsAs it should be
>>750619947This.
>>750630024No, fuck off to /lit/
>>750619416>>750627614Steam is literally selling trash games, enough with the slander of itchio.
Itch is the only place where the artform of video games is being truly explored and expanded, but remember: gamers are worthless cattle who are not interested in anything besides escapism and exist only to be sold to. Of course Itch is not popular, it caters to the patrician taste.
>>750633336huh, fun and novel concept
99.8% of games on itch are either demo (that will never get past that point), or arcade/newgrounds level games that are meant to be played and finished within an hourI'm glad you enjoy that experience, but this isn't what I'm interested in when I want to play a video game
>over and over the same games trying to reach massive social media atention then fails then dev abandons it
>>750619360Because Itch is mostly used as a "store" for proof of concepts. There are a bunch of games on there that are in active development, and you can play it right now, and in a year or so it will get removed off itch (or potentially stay on there as well) and get a full release on other platforms.Itch is basically how a lot of these smaller games source feedback by providing a small partial game for free, some are paid while in active development after they reach a point and is basically early access but even earlier. It has a lot of indies because its "my gamejam game did really well, I should put it on itch and develop it some more to see if it goes anywhere, and if it does I will release it fully" and this isn't really needed by bigger studios as they just hire people for this part, they pay testers, they pay for feedback, etcItch isn't really a video game store. It's just a place to download and manage game releases, it just so happens to also be able to handle some of them being paid.
>>750619408Launchers are shit.DRM is a placebo, it doesn't convert pirates into customers unless you're bad at selling games.
>>750633336>it caters to the patrician tasteyou misspelled "wanker"
>>750619360I like itch, but it's more of an experimental playground for devs than a serious competitor to GoG and steam. A lot of indies will usually start there as a beta/demo/jam, before moving on to the big stores. Pseudoregalia for example one a metroidvania game jam on itch, then got turned into a full steam game.
It's the megaupload of gamedev. Want to upload a game, you do it.
If itchy could sort it how games are discovered and filtered it would kill steam, but right now looking for anything there is a terrible experience.
