Now that the dust has settled, what do we think of Oblivion?
>>750618453It's unironically my childhood. Before Oblivion, I was a super casual gamer who only played games for like 2-3 hours a weeks, tops. When my friend introduced me to Oblivion and described it as a must play back in 2012ish, it blew my mind. I'd never seen a video game where you could kill the enemies and then put their clothes on. I'd never seen a game where it took you hours to traverse the world map. I'd never seen a video game where you could enter any house, dungeon, or cave you saw, and pick up literally everything you came across. And the actual quests? They were all so memorable. I haven't done a serious playthrough of Oblivion in over a decade, but I still remember most of the quests, like the Dark Brotherhood one where you have to infiltrate a party and kill everyone without getting caught. Or the one where you have to rescue a painter trapped in his own painting. Or the one where there's a schizo wood elf who believes that the entire city is spying on him. Or the one with the prosititutes who seduce men and then rob them once they get them into their rooms. Or the one where you rent a room at an inn, only for it to get robbed by bandits. I just fucking LOVE that game, man.
It's a terrible game.I love it.

>>750618453Shit game, but still entertaining. Pretty sad how many people now think the Bethesda jank was a positive, or that Oblivion is actually good. It's almost like everyone forgets the solid decade of the only positivity to come out of Oblivion was people making fun of it.
