I know it's a far cry from dragon age origins quality, but I loved origins (and even 2) and I want to have closure on this franchise to stop being angry at how gay and lame it has become I heard you can't use blood magic, which sucks, and the characters look really bad and uncanny. Regarding the unmodded game, the camera and party control is so fucked, my recommendation for enjoying the game is to play it like an action adventure game and give up on trying to play it like a party-based RPG. The AI can competently handle three specific roles without input. 1. Sword and Board Tank, 2. Archer, and 3. Barrier/Ice Support Mage. Luckily that covers the full spread of a basic party. Stray from those and it can start to be useless or get itself killed. Luckily that leaves you with the freedom to play whatever damage dealer you want and just focus on playing your character to the fullest which the controls allow pretty well. There's some extremely broken shit that can be pretty fun to do.
No and I'm one of the fools who bought it day one. It's basically a singleplayer MMO as far as quest design goes, the art direction follows DA2's bad example and the story is beyond weak. >quest design90% of it is "kill 10 wolves" missions. Story quests are better but they're locked behind power points which you get from grinding misc quests>plot example You travel to the future and learn the area boss will take over if you don't travel back and stop him. You do that only for the king to walk in and clean everything up, which means you weren't needed to stop him and the future couldn't happen. In another you confront a villain in front of a crowd and she submits to arrest and execution with only your assertions to condemn her. In an alternate outcome she reveals the crowd is full of her soldiers and she reveals herself as the villain, which means in one end she just chooses to die and her men don't help her.tl;dr it's not as bad as Veilguard but it's a further decline but with a lot of bloat.As far as positives go I'd say customisation and companions aren't bad. You get enough options with materials and design for your armour that you can get attached to it, though because of the engine or aesthetic some armours look like aluminium foil. I didn't like most of the team but you get the option to treat some of them like shit which is nice.

It has some good qualities and concepts but makes the lore worse more often than not and again, the gameplay and leveling is totally different and just generally worse. Tactics no longer exist, it is an action game instead of a tactics one and you have to farm RNG materials to forge your own equipment instead of finding it like adventures do. It is just there as a time sink.I put enough hours into this game to max level a rogue, a warrior and a mage. You can have fun with it but it is not Dragon Age and the story is so lackluster I didn't bother to finish the game in any of those playthroughs.
