Acting like rogues being able to do high damage via eviscerate while naked was the other. Static damage on eviscerate was only beneficial to greenies. Anyone with raid gear was held back by it. Anyway, I'll be playing a gnome frost mage in Forever so I don't care. Gnome frost mages could be the worst duelist in the game (they won't be), but they can always just walk away from any fight they don't want to be part of (I am calling 1v1 encounters while leveling duels, no one fucking actually uses the dueling mechanic aside from circlejerking retards outside of Orgrimmar and Ironforge lmao).

I was a high warlord rogue, and I never dueled. I just fought people in the world and in Arathi Basin. Whenever I had the chance to 1v1 a Paladin with no interruptions, I could rarely kill them. I could kite them with crippling+deadly poison (they would cleanse it, at the cost of their own sustainability but that would just allow me to gouge+restealth without deadly poison breaking the mez), I could re-stealth and and sap whenever they tried to heal, I could use that time to eat food or bandage. Eventually we would stalemate due to boredom or he would bubblehearth home. In an actual duel bubblehearth isn't an option, and I would win that duel once the pally's mana ran out. However, despite no-lifing WoW PvP enough to reach high warlord, I would have absolutely no fucking clue how to fight a shaman. I don't know where the shock deadzones are (if any), I don't know if I want to be going in while energy is high and then entering the 5-8m range while low on energy like I would a warrior where I want to avoid melee and charge, do I want to use mind-numbing poison to slow the shaman's quick heals so I can kick and silence them during the slower cast time? Do I want to mez the Shaman when lightning shield is up? Do I want to kill the fire totem? No fucking clue. If I, at my peak in around mid 2015 were to fight a good Shaman I'd probably lose. Now I'm going into this 20 years later, and if I'm fighting even a decent Shaman I'd DEFINITELY lose. Lots of people who wanna play this just don't have experience fighting shamans and paladins because of the vanilla faction locks.
