Did FNV have good side quests?
>>
So where exactly is the great beyond or glow they were talking about? China? Or some other heavily irradiated area where only ghouls can survive?
>>
>>750613143
it was just schizophrenic vision the guy in charge had like a dream or something. Supposedly ghoul paradise where they are free from the pain of the wasteland or something like that.
Some of the biggest retards in the fallout universe
>>
>>750612975
I was never able to complete this quest because the game would always crash when I tried to return after dealing with the Nightkin.
>>
fnv was the same dumb garbage as 3 but not made by bethesda so it's ok for /v/ to like it
>>
>>750613143
There's zero chance it wasn't inspired by Heaven's Gate. I always took it as they are inherently well meaning just that Bright is delusional. He is clearly getting some real psychic messages, but it's probably him massively misunderstanding things. My guess is that they're just going into space, past the magnetic fields, where there's radiation in space. It means almost certain death for all of them since they will run out of food, water, and eventually air as well.

>but what about the ones that came back to defend the town?

A few Heaven's Gate members never killed themselves and are still around, and even answer e-mails, do interviews, and maintain the cult's official website. I just saw them as more of the same.

>Jsawer's mod

he adds a few "Deranged Bright followers" to have a few more energy weapon fights in the game. That clues you in that he thinks they're batty.
>>
>>750613251
na, its honestly a well written game with a believable coherent universe. Theres just more though to everything, aside from the world design and buildings.
>>
>>750613372
You're putting to much thought into this. They guy is just batshit crazy that's it.

They're full on retards, but sending them off without problems is the easiest solution. If they crash, they end up polluting the town so it has to be abandoned. And if they are sent off, then the remaining Bright Followers either come back or they never left, and are grateful so they help defend the town from the legion. Cult's gonna Cult, so you have to treat them like retard but without angering them.

yes.

Rarely better than than the independent, quest-less exploration experiences it offers, I think.
But Come Fly With Me is especially tedious. I regret playing it more than once.
>>
>>750613448
Psychic powers exist in the Fallout world. I bet you anything, it's something stupid and misunderstood. Here's my guess:

>Someone tried to send a rocket ship into space
>the astronaut gets irradiated
>spends like a week getting irradiated and becomes a ghoul
>sends out psychic waves as he absorbs the radiation
>eventually dies
>Jason Bright picked this up and concludes this is some signals ushering them into a paradise for ghouls
>they all go off and die as well
>spend about a week in holy bliss until their oxygen and water run out
>>
>>750612975
>Beyond the Beef
>Return to Sender
>I Could Make You Care
>I Forgot to Remember to Forget
>That Lucky Old Sun
Return to Sender in particular since Hanlon is such an good character with a great performance by the late Kris Kristofferson.
>>750613143
Pretty sure it's meant to be the Moon.
>>
>>750613947
>Psychic powers exist in the Fallout world.
Damn if thats actually true, it makes all the stupid shit the fallout tv series has done seem more faithful to the source material.
I dont know much about fallout but that sounds ridiculous

>>
>>750612975
Not really. Bethesda's style of side quest design works better for open world RPGs.
>>
>>750612975
yeah. there's a lot of them too. I like the one at Camp McCarran where you have to find Colonel White or whatever the fuck his name is. I only found out about that one on my last playthrough, and I've played this game probably over twenty times since it came out. i'm still not sure i've done every quest
>>
>>750613143
gotta be close enough for them to return to novac by the end of new vegas
>>
>>750614065
Psionics are part and parcel of any generic science fiction setting. The kicker is that they’re a pre-Bethesda feature of the franchise, a result of mutation. Bethesda's introduced literal magic and Lovecraftian old gods.
>>
>>750612975
if you like Speech and skill check quests, New Vegas is a gold mine. the real draw of New Vegas is how good exploration feels because of the extremely well placed landmarks that aid navigation.

Iirc one of the devs said they were just trying to get into space period and had no plan beyond that.

That Lucky Old Sun and hellos one are like a microcosm of the best aspects of NVs world building and that Bethesda has never been able to properly replicate it is incredibly depressing.
>>
>>750614065
There are a bunch of psychics in Fallout. An obvious example from NV being The Forecaster.

This is the most troon-coded gender dysphoric post I've seen today. You are definitely a MTF trans.

>July 2010 build
>Leather armor, metal armor, and reinforced leather armor all have more defense
>Dinner bell easy to find
>Lucky in the Bison steve

https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_Prototype_Build_(July_2010)

All the changes were for the worse. They should make a mod to restore this.
>>
>>750615895
The lucky chage makes sense, it's the highlight of that entire area.
>>
>>750613372
Bro they were going to the moon duh. Thats why they used a rocket.
>>
>>750616752
And then what? Die? They can gain some energy from radiation, but they still need to breathe air, drink water, and need protein.
>>
>>750612975
>not completing Come Fly With Me by sneaking past all the ghouls in the building so they show up in the basement with the Bright Followers
Youre not a true gamer if you dont go for this esoteric shit in your playthroughs

what the fuck is that supposed to mean

Can you explain the lore how Hakunin used psychic powers to talk to you and save it as a note in your pipboy?

Theyre going to live on the moon volony there, you forgot they did that in Fallout.

>>
>>750618452
I beat this game like 3 times, why would you ever go back to Primm?
>>
>>750612975
I think it easily has the best companion quests in the series. But compared to some other non Fallout games I wouldn't say it's it's like a masterpiece or anything.
>>
>>750618727
Well if you have the unofficial patch or just get extremely lucky the V&V turns into a functional casino, plus Nash is one of the best early sources of caps in the game. And if course there's the skill gates to get Lucky and start the unmarked quest to find Vances SMG.
>>
>>750618727
>two merchants, which are very useful on hardcore
>unique gun like other anon said
>extra casino in case you get banned from the ones on the strip
>>
>>750612975
Every Fallout game has good side quests genuinely. The worst one in terms of side quests is probably Fallout 1 and even there quests like exploring The Glow, doing jobs for Decker, or freeing Adytum from The Regulators are all pretty cool.
>>
>>750619446
Pound for pound 4 easily has the weakest side quests even compared to one. A lot of it has to do with 4s absolutely fucked development but 90% of the quests in that game are a series of kill missions strung together.
>>
>>750619646
True I forgot about that
>>
Pretty fucked up they cucked the one normal person who was helping them, especially when they thought they were going to ghoul heaven and the guy thought he was a ghoul himself. Good riddance, ghoul scum.
