It's an edgy FFVIII with a big cast, quick combat, and a lot of fun gameplay outside of battle. It's also based for getting a fashion designer to design the girls' undies and she's passionate enough about the job she was given to give detailed reason for why each girl wears their particular pantsu style.

Its decent. The combat was okay and the plot/premise was interesting and has some really cute girls
I personally didn't get too into it because I fucking HATE when games have a forced time limit/time management system built into the main story.
I'm an exploration autist that likes taking my time and looking around everywhere and doing side quests and constantly that timer ticking down "heehee you only have x hours until the next mission hurry up chud :^)" just annoys me and makes me feel like I have to rush or worry about permanent missables or if what I'm doing is worth the limited time and triggers my autism in a different way

It does require you to play the campaign like twice to figure out the whole story though.

The remaster is pretty bad, it fucks up a lot of the graphics with weird artifact-laden upscaling, the gameplay is "rebalanced" (read: exp curves squished) so you overlevel the main story if you do any side content at all, and the gameplay also just isn't that great.
the game even on PSP wasn't a masterpiece but it's a disservice to play the remaster.
It's like a 6/10. actual 6/10, above average, but nothing remarkable.

Some cool ideas slapped together but due to famous Squeenix mismanagement the project had its director ripped off of it and the team was more or less forced to limp to completion because management didn't give a solitary fuck about any game from the failed Fabula Nova Crystalis initiative at that point.
Unfortunately you can tell the gameplay was one of those things that was still in the early stages when they were told to wrap it up.
