NTA but I know exactly what you mean. I’ve been enjoying a new MMO that is way slower and more immersive even if it is graphically modest. For me the immersion comes from that slower, deliberate world interaction and unique toolkits classes and races can bring to the world. I dunno if I can or will go back to WoW ever again after dipping into it; I just haven’t been able to get excited for Forever at all, especially coming off the heels of Ascension, which although it wasn’t for everyone, it was a lot of fun for me and very interesting. I hope those that do try it can find enjoyment in it, but for now, I’ll be sitting it out since I don’t have faith in Blizzard’s ability to do anything compelling or that will bring that immersive dimension back to it (for me).

There is not a main story as such. There are many questlines which are essential for making progress at max level, but nothing in the world changes as a result of completing them.

You can skip all the elite and group quests. Vanilla leveling is 100% soloable. Grind out a couple levels to get ahead if you really want to.
