They don't fix it. I'm sorry, I tried the mods too, they barely tweak anything and you realize how much you're still missing when you compare it side by side with the original.

All scenes felt like they popped more, environments felt more atmospheric etc. and I realized why everyone called it beautiful when it came out in 2001; because it still was! That's how much of a difference the artstyle made, for me at least. I'm so pissed about it after all this time even as someone with zero nostalgia for the game that you'll see me in every thread decrying the remaster.
