Is there a way a normal well adjusted human can experience this game and its sequel in modern day? Word on the street is that everyone you could play online with are just speedrunners who run around and do everything so it's like you're not even playing. I hate not being able to say I've played every classic RE game.

The video itself showed how to sign up for the fan servers observ I think they were called. It's not difficult to do, just a little time consuming without it all packed up nice and pretty.While I haven't played the fan servers in awhile, when I was there hosting my own games I didn't just have speedrunners joining me. They mostly stuck to each other and File 2's extra game modes like showdowns with all the bosses and stuff. I did have to advertise my games on the fan servers main forum/discord though to get randos to join. Otherwise you're sitting there twiddling your thumbs hoping some stranger joins out of the blue for twenty minutes.
