Why did so many retro consoles have support for accessories that they never received? nowadays they would just remove these ports before release. It's physical after all.

>>750600682Technology was evolving so fast that they purposely left those ports for future enhancement. When 16 bit consoles launched, CD technology was almost experimental and extremely expensive, but halfway through that generation life, it became so affordable that things like the MegaCD became commercial products. Also, some modern mods can be made using these ports. I remember reading that there is a method for reading SD Disks on the Sega Saturn using one of these ports.
>>750600682That was a debug port not an accessory port. Vita like Xbox can be used as a dev kit without buying a standalone kit.
Has people ever discovered why the back of Classic Wii controlles had these
>>750600682That image turned me on.
me to some guy's wife while he's at work
>>750600682where did you find this pic of my girlfriend?
>>750603625Yeah, for a clip to hold the wiimote you tethered it to.
>>750607001Makes sense, but sounds uncomfortable with how heavy the Wiimote with batteries is
>>750601241proof?
>>750601005>>750606256Jej
>>750607209The classic controller weighs as much as a picture of itself, so I don't think it'd be much heavier than holding any other normal controller.
>>750600682me when i accept who i am in life
what was the fucking point?
>>750609756I think the chat pad used it.
>>750611467did literally anything else use it, like literally anything else at all?
>>750611761Don't think so.
>>750611467the chat pad didnt even "use" it actually afaik. You still needed a whole separate USB dongle connected to the console. It just physically clipped the keyboard onto there, but didn't actually transfer any data through it, maybe power? but that's it. That's how bullshit this port is.
>>750600682>thread about women>no women postedhuh?
>>750609756it's how you hook up the controller to your home made deep sea submersible.
