It's hard to care about the possibility of the current continuity ending when they keep abandoning plot threads and obsessing over Chris and Leon. Even if it does end, they'll probably just start over, make Leon the definitive protagonist and have no more major timeskips so that they don't have to worry about him getting too old again.
