I assembled my PC for about $975 in 2019 and it still runs every game I play perfectly. I just emulate games up to PS2 era and play indie games, because that's all that's worth playing. Mina the Hollower ran fine. Probably it'll be 5 years before a game comes out that's as good as that.
I'm worried about when my hardware eventually dies. I'm just going to set aside a few thousand every year so I can afford one after a few good seasons. That's basically what I do with vehicles. You know, back in the day. Mid to early 80's people had to spend many thousands of dollars for a PC. I'm willing to go back to those days. $20k is my hard limit.
