Bought one for 540€ last November, now I see listings on eBay for 1300€... But more reasonably it's sold at 900€ on regular normal online shops, even where I bought it. I sold it for 650€ recently to soften the cost of a 9070XT (850€).
The 5070 is a decent card, for around 700€ it's very good since it's GDDR7 and PCIe5.0 and everything, you can throw anything 4K at a very decent framerate despite only having 12GB. But it's Nvidia, it's become a niche device. I wouldn't buy one at 900€.

9070XT - Around launch for about $700, and got a second back in June this year for $550 (Walmart sale/price error). One in my desktop and the other in a small PC for the living room.

Looks like they are $920-1000 now on Amazon going by listings. I know Nvidia GPU pricing has been turbofucked for a while now, but $1k for a 9070xt sounds like horseshit as well.

This shit happens during every price hike. They repair it and sell refurbished for much more than what they refund you.
Right now sending in anything more expensive than a 5070 for warranty is guaranteed to end up like this, doesn't matter if it's actually fucked silicon or just a rattling fan.

It did unfortunately. I should have just insisted on an repair but I didn't want to wait for 3 months. In the end it was Nvidia who knew better than to repair it and send it back to me. Fucking pissed to this day about it.
Oh and yes, LLM's will more often than not give advice that's better for the corp than for you

Bought a 5090 new on release day for $4000AUD. Took 6 months to arrive. They are now over $10k new or $6k used. Play VR and that is the only thing that has needed it aside from RDR2 at 4k trying to target 120FPS.

Clown world.

>>

Very unlikely you could force them to repair it, they have all kinds of excuses to weasel out of it and force a refund. If they gave you a 3 months estimate it means they just wanted you to fuck off and had no intention to ever repair it, especially since 4090 is out of production.
Should have taken it to a reputable third party repair shop.

5070ti went up like $500 lmao. I originally bought a 5070ti because I wanted a cheap build but then I was like 5090 is 100% going to go up in price.
I almost broke the 5070ti too when I stood up my chair hit my standing tables buttons and it went to the top. Ah good, great. It's the beginning of a new schoolyear, don't you guys have student grants or something? if you're so poor. I paid my first own PC with the student grant. I just hope it's not too late if possible. I profited from a grey area in the grant system to get it, it took a little while for them to allow it and but it was retroactive, got like 3000€ at once on the account and then I enjoyed a pretty hefty sum each month because I was so fucking poor.
I sure hope you can get a grant, Anon. Even if you're in university, even if it's professional studies, even if it's already paid by the State for example becoming a nurse, you should be able to get a grant or government help. Don't throw yourself into battles where you will get your feathers torn out. Good luck.

I am seller though and a wait'er, already sold my DDR5 system for the low end life. Now I feel like I have to sell this card. I was supposed to venture into AI with it. Sheit, Got plenty of old hardware to lean onto though. like 6700 xt and literally 20 other cards. What to do, what to do.

This is what I paid for my prebuilt 4070 in 2024. Not even sure how to compare it to prices right now because nothing has this in stock other than second hand places.

Most retailers have the 4070 super at above $1K so I think I made out okay
>>
>>750587071
*most retailers had
all sold out now, but when it was in stock it was upwards of $1.2k
>>
>>750586893
I had to get a mod to make FF7R stop stuttering.
Thankfully that's the only UE5 game i wanted to play.
>>
>>750586987
13600k even with DDR4 is faster than 5600X ~20% higher FPS. So closer to 5800X3D.
>>
The cost of a 5070 has basically doubled from what it was when I bought mine in September
>>
>>750587176
FF7R isn't UE5.
It's still using UE4, the best way to avoid shader compilation stutter right now is SCSKiller if you have nV GPU. AMD usually has less stutters in that game.
>>
I upgraded from a 4090 to a 5080, it's really a far better card
>>
>>750587031
>Blackfriday.

Buying from retailers means you're going to get cucked either way. As long as you're not addicted to playing the latest high fidelity games, old 8 gb VRAM cards like polaris still works which you can get get a few tens of freedom bucks. Just make sure you check the driver situation before you buy, which generally means you want to go with AMD.

The smartest thing right now is probably partially buy into a system with the parts that has gone down or stagnant. Lean on the IGPU. Maybe look into lossless scaling with an old GPU if ur games allow for it.

If you are happy with the performance there is no need to upgrade.
You can squeeze some extra performance with OC.
New CPUs from both AMD and Intel will arrive soon, but even with the latest and greatest hardware you are still at the mercy of game developers not fucking things up.
>>
>>750586987
Yes, holy shit. 90 % of you niggers are FOMO-brained. 13600K will literally last you 10 years, probably more, unless you have a niche use case.

Until your hardware falls off the surface level benchmark list, there is no need to worry.
